Conor McGregor recently announced his much-anticipated return to fighting. In what has been a long wait and an eventful journey, it would seem that the Irishman is finally back. However, despite the announcement now being official, the mind games have continued from McGregor.

Despite it being all but confirmed, Conor tried to pull the rug from underneath Chandler by faking an opponent switch at the last minute. With that said, he has now turned to trolling the American fighter for the patience and resolve he has shown. Taking to ‘X’, McGregor posted a compilation of himself enjoying and having alcohol whilst Chandler trained. Further, he followed it up with a mockup of himself knocking down the latter.
Thus, the mind games are well and truly back, something that has been a staple since McGregor’s golden days. Casting your mind back to the time ‘The Notorious One‘ took on Jose Aldo for the featherweight title, the contender was a menace. Throughout the buildup, McGregor tempted and teased his opponent, only to go on and score a historic KO win afterward. As such, it is evident that he is once again utilizing a similar game plan.
Is Conor McGregor really fighting Michael Chandler at 185lbs?
For the most part, many were left a little disappointed with McGregor’s fight announcement. Despite it being quite clear that the fight wouldn’t be possible for UFC 300, fans still held out hope. As it turns out, McGregor will now likely headline the card for International Fight Week on June 29.
Seeing that McGregor had already entered the testing pool, fans once again felt that there was no need for the fight to be pushed so far back. Additionally, some were left agitated by the alcohol-infused theatrics Conor had put on. To top it all off, the Irishman revealed the weight to be 185 lbs, following it up with a disturbing laugh and a swig of wine.

With no official announcement for it, people are still a little skeptical of the weight. During their initial days filming for TUF 31, Conor had proposed the 185 lbs idea, which Chandler promptly agreed to. Dropping the iconic “You’ll do what you’re told,” it seems that the Irishman was not fooling around. Although the majority of fans would like the fight to take place at either lightweight or welterweight, the final decision is up to the UFC.
Currently, it is expected that UFC President Dana White will address the public after the upcoming UFC Vegas 84. Alongside the announcement of more UFC 300 fights, the fight between McGregor and Chandler will also be made official. What weight do you think the fight will be at?
