In a recent Instagram update, Alex Terrible, the lead singer of the metal band ‘Slaughter To Prevail’, posted a video of himself participating in an unconventional activity that might surprise some. The clip had him wrestling with a full-sized bear. However, this isn’t the first time Terrible has demonstrated his bear-fighting skills; he previously shared a video back in 2021 while filming the music video for their song “Baba Yaga“.
While this was as dangerous and unheard of as it gets, fans were quick enough to connect this activity to former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is also known to have wrestled bears in his childhood. One more similarity between the two is that both of them are from Russia.

The singer captioned the video, “Long time no see,” and it also went viral on the internet, as at the time of writing this, it has over 15.6 million views on Instagram alone.
Alex Terrible is the frontman for ‘Slaughter to Prevail’, which is a deathcore band that is currently headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Their EP, “Chapters of Misery,” came out in 2015, and subsequently, in 2017, the group released their first full-length album titled “Misery Sermon“.
Did Khabib Nurmagomedov really fight bears?
Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest fighters to have ever fought in the UFC. He was a dominant champion who retired undefeated in his prime. While Khabib had a mix of several tricks in his bag, his wrestling was second to none.
While the fighters who come from the part of the world that he comes from do excel in this skill due to their training and other factors, when it comes to the ‘Eagle’, fans often tend to connect his superior wrestling skills with the fact that he wrestled bears when he was a child.
Several years ago, a YouTube video featuring a young Khabib grappling with a Russian bear went viral. Initially met with skepticism, it was later confirmed to be authentic. The fighter himself has clarified multiple times that he actually wrestled bears.
The video in question was shot when the UFC legend was just 9 years old. According to his father and coach, the late Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the wrestling match with Bear was more of a test of character than some exercise. Khabib retired from mixed martial arts in 2021 after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The undefeated legend was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last year.
