Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz is all set to go head-to-head with Jake Paul this weekend. While the Stockton native might not seem very interested in beefing with Paul, he has promised to beat up Paul inside the ring. While Diaz is yet to fight Jake, he already has his sights set on his next opponent.
During an interview, Nate Diaz revealed that he is interested in fighting Conor McGregor again. Both fighters are 1-1 against each other and do need a third fight to determine the ultimate winner. However, Nate’s boxing coach might have some issues with it.
Conor McGregor was defeated by Nate in his first fight, via a submission in 2016. Despite the win, Nate Diaz’s coach Richard Perez accused Conor McGregor of being on PEDs. Perez believed McGregor moved up weight classes too fast without any fat on him.
His phenomenal shape at 170 lbs despite his stature had Perez speculating whether Conor McGregor was on something or not. Both fighters later fought at UFC 202 where Conor won via a unanimous decision, in a close bout. Now after all these years, both fighters want to fight each other.
However, McGregor is already accused by many of being on steroids ever since he went into recovery for his broken leg. With the accusations of PEDs flying around, Diaz’s coach Richard Perez would certainly hesitate to book a fight with Conor.
Regardless, both fighters have formidable opponents ahead of them with Nate fighting Jake Paul and McGregor in talks to fight Michael Chandler in the UFC. Only time will tell how the Nate-Conor Trilogy pans out in the coming years.
Conor McGregor can’t wait for Jake Paul nonsense to get over
Former UFC double division champion Conor McGregor has been gunning for a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz. Both fighters are 1-1 against each other, with Conor taking the win in their last fight. Although The Notorious may be facing Michael Chandler for his next fight, the recent developments in the combat sports world have deviated his attention.
Conor McGregor recently took to Twitter and called out the BMF champion Justin Gaethje to put his title on the line. Despite being in talks to fight Chandler, McGregor went on to call out anyone he liked and while doing so he also revealed his desire to fight Nate Diaz and dismissed his upcoming boxing match with Jake Paul.

“Regardless of that nonsense match, me and Nate will be completing the trilogy. I am going to grab that BMF belt right quick for us to compete for it in the trilogy,” tweeted McGregor. The tweet has since been deleted by the Irish fighter as he does a lot of times.
Considering even Nate Diaz is interested in a possible trilogy with Conor, the fight might actually materialize. Diaz has revealed he is open to fight in the UFC again and a trilogy bout with Conor would have a ton of fans tuning in to watch the fight. Regardless, both fighters will have to overcome their opponents ahead of them to make this fight a reality.
