Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz finds himself in hot waters with the law following his brawl after the Misfits Boxing 6 event on April 21. In the event, Nate’s teammate Chris Avila was fighting Paul Bamba, who he defeated via unanimous decision. During the event, Nate was kicked out of the building for throwing water bottles at former football player Chase DeMoor.
However, that was a mild altercation in comparison to what happened after the event. Around 2:10 am in the following morning, Nate was involved in a brawl outside the event arena in New Orleans. During that, Nate was caught choking out the Logan Paul lookalike, Rodney Petersen. In a viral video, Nate could be seen putting an unsuspecting Petersen into a standing guillotine and choking him unconscious.

Not only did he choke Rodney Petersen out, but the viral TikTok sensation also fell head-first on the side of the road. Rodney later took to his social media platforms and revealed that the fall left him with a big gash behind his head. He also threatened to knock Diaz out when he sees him the next time. But that is not the end of Nate’s potential troubles.
After the incident, NOPD (New Orleans Police Department) investigated the scene and decided to put out an arrest warrant against Nate on the charge of second-degree battery. NOPD released a statement that said, “After investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Nate Diaz. He has been charged with second degree battery. He is not in custody at this time.” (h/t via MMA Fighting)

As UFC fans know, Nate Diaz is notorious for the brawls he has gotten into over the years. Many remember his bottle-throwing incident with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 press conference. However, the brawl with Rodney Petersen was different. This time around, Petersen, who is a social media influencer, was not a trained fighter and he did not seem interested in engaging in the altercation.
Hence, with a fight against Jake Paul in August later this year, Nate is in a very interesting position. If he does get arrested, the former UFC title contender may miss out on a chance to take on The Problem Child. As a result, Jake Paul has recently accepted KSI as a backup opponent for Diaz on Twitter. However, Nate did not let the development slide as he quoted tweeted Jake’s post and dismissed both Paul and KSI at once.
