During his appearance on a podcast, Aljamain Sterling revealed that Floyd Mayweather tried to steal his fiancee Rebecca Cruz years ago. The couple was at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas in 2016, where they were approached by Floyd Mayweather’s ‘minions’. The duo was then invited to party with Mayweather, as he was also nearby.
Sterling knew that if he accepted the invitation, he would get pushed to the side and Mayweather would make moves on his girlfriend. To avoid this situation, Aljamain rejected the offer right away. However, Mayweather’s team was very persistent, and they sent a woman to invite the couple for a second time.
While Sterling was a huge fan of Mayweather, he was aware of the consequences of accepting the invitation. Which is why he ended up calling out Floyd Mayweather for a fight to settle the situation once and for all.
“I was like, Listen, I know how this scene, this movie goes. You can tell Floyd he’s undefeated in boxing. I’m undefeated in MMA. If we want to figure out what’s the better sport, we can find out today,” said Sterling to Floyd’s associates.

Thankfully, the situation did not escalate any further, and the duo was not disturbed by Floyd Mayweather. Given Sterling’s proficiency in MMA, many even believe the situation would have not ended in Floyd’s favor. “Aljo would have given little Floyd his first L would have strangled him in two minutes,” tweeted one fan.
Meanwhile, others believe Floyd Mayweather would have used his bodyguards to subdue the Funkmaster. Regardless, both Rebecca and Aljamain have been going strong together and also got engaged after 10 years of dating.
