UFC 299 will be the third PPV event of the year and quite possibly the best one yet. An absurdly stacked card, it is in the running for perhaps the best event this year. With that said, let’s take a look at the walkout songs for this one.
Headlining one of the biggest cards of 2024, we have Sean O’Malley taking on Marlon Vera. With two top bantamweight talents and a lot of hype behind them, their fight will make for an intriguing contest. Notably, UFC 299 will have their second encounter, owing to a loss for O’Malley during their first meeting at UFC 252.

Additionally, we have a rare occurrence of a co-main, non-title 5-rounder with Dustin Poirier and Benoit-Saint Denis. Set to be an enthralling contest, to say the least, and many are very eager to watch this one. However, the same could be said for practically any other fight on the card as well. Notably, we also have Kevin Holland vs. Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Gilbert Burns vs. Jack Della Maddalena, and Petr Yan vs. Song Yadong on the main card.
If that’s not enough, even the prelims are mind-blowing, with the presence of names like Curtis Blaydes, Jailton Almeida, Mateusz Gamrot, and Rafael Dos Anjos. As for the early prelims, we have the likes of Michel Pereira, Ion Cutelaba, Joanne Wood, and promising signee Robelis Despaigne opening out the night. Safe to say, the fans are in for one hell of an evening come UFC 299.
Which songs have Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera walked out to before?
With such an important and exciting event ahead, let’s take a look at what songs the fighters have been walking out to previously. Starting with the champion O’Malley, we have an extremely talented fighter. Since he arrived at the UFC, the youngster has won all but one fight. Notably, O’Malley’s first and only career loss came at the hands of Marlon Vera, his current opponent, back in 2020.
For the most part, Sean O’Malley’s walkout selections have been very reflective of his persona. In the past, he has walked out to songs like Kodak Black’s song Super Gremlin, Mapi by 6ix9ine, and “Goat Talk” by J.Rob the Chief. As for his title-winning fight against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292, ‘Suga’ made the walk to “Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco. With his past songs fitting the occasion, it will be interesting to see what he chooses for UFC 299.
As for the contender, Marlon Vera is expected to walk out to a song that encaptures his aspirations to win the title. In the past, we have seen him walk out to different tunes, with no real connection to each other. In the past, we have seen him walk out to songs like “Spanish Town Rockin” by Chronixx. For his last win against Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292, ‘Chito’ made the walk to “Where You Come From” by DJ Khaled feat Buju Banton, Capleton, and Bounty Killer.
Which songs have Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis used in the past?
Notably, Dustin Poirier has enjoyed one of the longest tenures out of anyone on the card. In the running for a spot in the Hall of Fame in the future, Poirier is slowly coming to the end of his career. Although he may not have the same title-challenging aspirations as before, he still wishes to have the biggest fights on the biggest stage possible.
Thus, ‘The Diamond’ has used multiple songs in his UFC career. In the past, he has used songs like “Take It in Blood” by Nas, and “Diamonds” by Sierra – Kanye West. However, there is one song that has stuck with him since he used it. As such, Poirier has been walking out to “The Boss” by James Brown for his most recent fights. Thus, it is expected that the Louisiana native will likely use the same song at UFC 299 as well.
Now his opponent, Benoit Saint-Denis, is a relatively new name in the division and one that the fans cannot stop raving about. Despite a loss in his debut, he has finished all of his last five fights. For his last fight, the ‘God of War’ walked out to“Le Chant des Commandos” by NTM. Seeing that he has used this song in all of his previous fights, it is expected that he will stick with the same one for his UFC 299 as well.
Which songs have Kevin Holland, Gilbert Burns, Petr Yan, and other UFC 299 fighters walked out to before?
With such a stacked card and many notable fighters, let’s take a look at what some of the other UFC 299 fighters have used for their walkouts in the past.
Gilbert Burns: At UFC 287, ‘Durinho‘ walked out to “Medley” by Buchecha, when he took on Jorge Masvidal. Previously, the Brazilian had used the same for his walkout song at UFC 283 against Neil Magny. Similarly, he also used it against Khamzat Chimaev before that and for his latest fight at UFC 288.
Kevin Holland: Welterweight fighter Kevin Holland has used a variety of NBA Youngboy tracks. Notably, he has made the walk to “Emo Rockstar” at UFC 272 and “Ghost” by the rapper. Notably, ‘Trailblazer’ walked out to “I Was Just Thinking” by Gunna at UFC 291 and then “Tell Me” by MGF Bandit again for his latest fight at Noche UFC.
Petr Yan: For the most part, the Russian bantamweight walks out to “Stem for the Belt” by Noggano on most occasions. As such, the only exception to this came at UFC 280 when Petr Yan took on Sean O’Malley. On the night, he walked out to “БОЙЦОВСКАЯ ТРОПА” by Drummatix.
Jailton Almeida: Previously, ‘Malhadinho’ walked out to “Vencedor” by Thiaguinho for his dominant KO/TKO victory over Shamil Abdurakhimov. As for his fight against Jarzinho Rozenstruik, Almeida made the walk to, “RINGUE DA VIDA” by MC Cabelinho. For his latest fight against, Derrick Lewis, Jailton made the walk to “Posturado e Calmo” by Leo Santana and won a one-sided decision.
Curtis Blaydes: Lastly, heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes has mostly walked out to the tunes of Immortal’s hit song “Encounter the Ultimate“.Thereafter, Blaydes has used the popular console game Mortal Kombat’s theme song for his walkouts and stuck with it ever since.
