SUMMARY
- Cody Rhodes will face Logan Paul in the upcoming 'King and Queen of the Ring.'
- However, it may not be the best decision from the Triple H-led WWE creative team.
WWE Backlash 2024 is now history, and the Stamford-based promotion is slowly marching towards its next Premium Live Event, King and Queen of the Ring 2024. Meanwhile, recently, the largest wrestling promotion in the world announced a huge match involving Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul for the upcoming PLE.
Recently, on the May 10, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, SmackDown’s general manager, Nick Aldis, called out Cody Rhodes. With that, he revealed that The American Nightmare’s next challenger was determined. With that, Logan Paul’s theme played, and he came out.
Paul then proposed to Cody a Champion vs. Champion match in the main event of the King and Queen of the Ring 2024. Thereafter, Logan began bragging about himself. However, he soon got interrupted by “Logan Sucks” and “Prime Sucks” chants from the audience.
Rhodes then fired shots at Paul and mentioned that he would see Logan at the Premium Live Event. Thus, a match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul has been scheduled for the main event of the upcoming PLE. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, while Logan is the United States Champion.
Thus, the two champs will now battle each other inside the squared circle at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE. However, it seems the largest wrestling promotion in the world might be making a mistake by putting Logan’s United States title against Cody’s Undisputed WWE Universal title.
Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul with the US title on the line is not the best idea
Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul might be an amazing match. However, a match between the two with the US title on the line might not be the best idea. If WWE had only let Logan challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal title, then there would be only one championship on the line, and if Cody defeated Paul at the event, he would continue to be the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
However, now that Paul’s US title is also on the line if Cody defeats Logan, he will also win the United States Championship. Also, the chances of The American Nightmare defeating The Maverick are high because, unlike Rhodes, Logan is not an active member of the roster. Thus, it would be unlikely for the Stamford-based promotion to hand over both titles to a part-time wrestler.

Meanwhile, if Cody wins the US title along with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, it might create a little chaotic situation with two title reigns. Thus, it might be too soon for Cody to win both titles.
Triple H might be making a mistake with Cody Rhodes after the big WrestleMania win
Previously, Cody Rhodes surprised everyone with his victory at WrestleMania 40. He successfully ended Roman Reigns’ 1316-day reign to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. That was a huge turning point for Cody’s career, and it made him the top superstar of the promotion.
With that, fans were eager to see Rhodes’ first title defense. Cody then successfully defended his title against AJ Styles at Backlash 2024. This helped him maintain his momentum among the fans. Meanwhile, the Stamford-based promotion has announced Cody’s next match against Logan Paul at the upcoming PLE.
However, that might prove to be a mistake by the Chief Content Officer of WWE, Triple H. This is because Cody recently became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and as of now, he is establishing his momentum as the new champ. Meanwhile, if he wins the US title, it might affect his momentum as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Also, Rhodes winning the United States Championship might affect his popularity among the fans. They might think that Triple H has been over-pushing The American Nightmare by handling him two titles within a span of a few months.
However, now that the Stamford-based promotion has announced the match for the upcoming PLE, it is to be seen what the outcome of the match will be. Meanwhile, it would be ideal if the match ended in a disqualification. Whatever the case, fans will definitely look forward to the highly anticipated match.
