SUMMARY
- Jaylen Brown led the Celtics to eliminate the Heat in Game 5.
- Brown is glad that Boston won but is eager to prepare for their upcoming opponents.
Jaylen Brown discussed the current mindset of the Boston Celtics after their recent Game 5 win over the Miami Heat. Most NBA fans know that the Celtics and Heat matched up for the second time in a row for a 7 game series. This time, the Celtics got revenge for their elimination last season and defeated the Heat within 5 games.
Not only did the Celtics win Game 5, but they completely dominated the Heat, albeit without Jimmy Butler, and established their superiority over their rivals. While one may assume that key members of the roster such as Brown felt overwhelmed with emotion, the Celtics star revealed that he is focused on the bigger picture and the upcoming challenge for his team.
Jaylen Brown scored 25 points in 26 minutes of action to get the Celtics into the next round
With Kristaps Porzingis missing this game due to a calf injury and Jayson Tatum playing through an ankle injury, Jaylen Brown stepped up to the occasion and helped his team clinch a spot in the second round of the playoffs. Brown scored 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 26 minutes of playing time. He was supported by Derrick White who also scored 25 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
Although the Celtics defeated the reigning conference champions, Brown revealed that the team was more focused on the task ahead as opposed to celebrating their present success.
“We came in, we threw the first punch, we played fast, we played aggressive and we found a way to get a win…Its just taking one game at the time we gotta keep staying with it…I mean tonight its always great to advance but tomorrow we get ready for whoever’s next.”

Since the Celtics have always made deep and consistent runs in the playoffs throughout recent times, one can certainly understand why Brown does not feel too exhilarated after making it through the first round. After all, this team managed to make it all the way to the NBA Finals in 2021.
Do the Boston Celtics have an easy path to the NBA Finals?
Despite the fact that the Celtics finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA and should be favored to come out of the Eastern Conference, it would be unfair to claim that any team has an easy path to the Finals. Boston does not have Kristaps Porzingis on the court at the moment and is clearly not at full strength.
In any case, the Celtics will face the Cleveland Cavaliers or Orlando Magic for the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. If they manage to win, they will only be 8 wins away from winning a coveted NBA championship.
