A glimpse of Tom Brady’s journey to become the GOAT
At the very beginning of his career, Tom Brady went through many triumphs and tribulations. Brady played school football for Junipero Serra in his hometown and college football for the University of Michigan. However, Brady’s journey from school to college was filled with many setbacks and uncertainty. The former Patriots man, during an interview, explained his sufferings before the beginning of his college football career.
Brady said, “My freshman year, I didn’t even play. I was the backup quarterback on a team that went 0-8. I wanted to go. I got offered a scholarship to UCLA, and then they turned me away at the last minute cause another kid signed before me.” The legendary quarterback also stated that he wanted to go to USC, which was his top choice. Unfortunately, the university wasn’t a fan of the player and didn’t offer him any opportunities.

Therefore, he moved to Michigan and was the seventh quarterback of the big squad. A fantastic turn came into Brady’s life when the Patriots picked him in the 2000 NFL draft. Later, when the franchise’s members called the quarterback, they said, “Hey, Tom, this is, you know, Bill Belichick you know pick in a six-round like see Monday, like get ready to go.”
At that time, they had three quarterbacks ahead of Brady, which was quite like his time in Michigan. But the then-head coach, Belichick, kept only two quarterbacks on the NFL roster most of the time. Eventually, the all-awaited day arrived in the quarterback’s life when Belichick finally offered him the opportunity.
Recalling the day Brady stated, “Bill Belichick saw something in me if I ever did get that position, and I told this to my best friend who’s one of my roommates in college. I said if they ever put me on the field they’re never gonna take me off the field.”
The last quote from the quarterback shows how confident he was in his potential. Despite that, the most crucial fact is that he proved his words. And since making his debut, the franchise never dared to take him off until he decided to leave the Patriots.
