Jon Jones has nodded his head in approval of Jiri Prochazka’s bizarre claim in the lead-up to UFC 303 last weekend when the former LHW Champion accused Alex Pereira of using “magic” to win UFC fights.
Poatan, who often takes part in the ritual practices with his indigenous Pataxo tribe met with harsh criticism of such acts in the form of Prochazka, who demanded Pereira step inside the Octagon without using his “magic” as the former Champion put it. Jones took to X to share his thoughts on the accusations and did not deny anything said by Prochazka.
Jones admitted feeling “type of weird energies” in the lead-up to his fights and proclaimed his belief in Christianity as the reason behind such an experience.
The comment section wasn’t too kind to the UFC Heavyweight Champion in his remarks who received severe backlash from the MMA community.
Jon Jones is set to return to the UFC Octagon later this year
In what could be his last outing inside the UFC Octagon, Jon Jones, 36, will likely make his return later this year against Stipe Miocic in his first title defense of the heavyweight gold. He last competed in March 2023, and it has already been more than a year since then.
UFC, which usually strips its Champion in cases where they haven’t defended their gold in 12 months, has been silent on Jon Jones’ extended hiatus even if it’s because of an injury. Needless to say, this has infuriated many fans who don’t see Stipe Miocic, who turns 42 this August, as a formidable opponent to his GOAT status.
Tom Aspinall, who has been campaigning for a shot at the undisputed gold, will step inside the Octagon at UFC 304 in Manchester in a rare title defense of the interim gold. As for Jones, everything points towards a possible retirement after his fight with Stipe Miocic, which fans believe will be an easy victory for the current Champion.
