In the midst of his Achilles tendon recovery journey, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers shared some insights about his experience and the connection to basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

He revealed, “I knew that Kobe [Bryant] had done his Achilles, so I looked into it right away. I mean, literally on the table Monday night, I thought about Kobe. I had seen ‘Muse,’ but I had forgotten that he had surgery the next day.”

The surgeon who performed surgery on Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles tendon has extensive experience working with prominent athletes. During his fourth play as a New York Jet, Rodgers was tackled by a Buffalo Bills defender and had to leave the game. Despite some time in the medical tent, he had to be taken off the field on a cart.

Post-game, it was disclosed that Rodgers had suffered a torn Achilles, instantly ending his season. On the following Wednesday, Rodgers underwent surgery, conducted by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who serves as the team physician for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers. Dr. ElAttrache is renowned for operating on Kobe Bryant’s Achilles, as well as mending the knees of Joe Burrow and Tom Brady, as reported by the Athletic.

Also, Rodgers said, “I knew that Kobe [Bryant] had done his Achilles, so I looked into right away. I mean literally on the table Monday night, I thought about Kob. I had seen ‘Muse’, but I had forgotten that he gotten surgery the next day.”

His approach to Achilles surgeries differs from traditional methods. He utilizes a technique known as internal bracing, involving the addition of a sutured “bridge brace” at the repair site. This added support allows athletes to commence physical activity much sooner than usual, expediting their return to the field.
