WWE’s annual Premium Live Event Money in the Bank is right around the corner and the hype for the event has been top-tier. With Seth Rollins making his return to the company and facing Damian Priest for the World Title and Cody Rhodes taking on the Bloodline once again, the event will be highly anticipated. However, nothing tops the excitement of crowning new Money in the Bank winners with top names such as Jey Uso, Chelsea Green and Carmelo Hayes already being a part of it.
On this week’s RAW, Jey Uso qualified for the men’s match, and Iyo Sky qualified for the women’s event, marking the beginning of the qualifying matches for the 2024 Money In The Bank Ladder matchups. Carmelo Hayes and Andrade qualified for the men’s match, while Chelsea Green qualified for the women’s, as the SmackDown qualifiers went on.
Chelsea responded to her qualification on Twitter, pledging to cash in on “Big Bully Bayley” and win the title. She stated “I can’t wait to win @WWE MITB in the motherland, cash in on Big Bully Bayley, and then be the most pretty, talented, charismatic, tanned, sparkly, illustrious women’s champion ever…”. Green is motivated in winning the briefcase and become champion.
Chelsea is one of the most influential wrestlers on the roster and continues to grow each week. She recently appeared for her partner Piper Niven who failed to win the Women’s Title from Bayley at Clash at the Castle. With her charismatic personality, fans are ready to see her win the Money in the Bank ladder match and bring home the Women’s World title.
Matt Cardona and fans react to Chelsea Green’s joyful victory
The WWE Universe is expecting huge things from Green as they are fully supporting the 33-year-old wrestler. In her recent comments, fans showcased their support by calling her out as the next world champion. “The divas champion we need,” said one user while supporting her in this journey. Other users stated “I need this more than you believe.” and ” You deserve this” to support the Canadian wrestler.
Her husband Matt Cardona also shared her excitement as he posted a video of the crowd erupting after Chelsea’s shocking win.“LOOK at the people. (They’re not quiet either),” Cardona wrote in the post’s caption. He further wrote that he is hoping that her wife will bring the briefcase home. “I’m hoping she brings home that briefcase,” wrote Cardona.
Green is one of the most adaptable female wrestlers in professional wrestling. She can pull off various gimmicks with ease since she possesses charisma and the ability to do excellent character work. Green has wrestled in several promotions including TNA, AEW, Lucha Underground and several other regional promotions. She was a part of the WWE before but left due to several reasons. On her return, she has made a name for herself with her unmatched aura and personality.
With so much support, Chelsea might eventually end up winning the coveted prize and cash it in to become the new Women’s champion. However, things would be tough for her as she faces an array of opponents at the event.
Who else can win the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match?
The women’s roster is stacked in the WWE right now with a lot of women in there to showcase their talents on the big stage. Money in the Bank might be the perfect opportunity to shine and establish dominance in the company. With Chelsea Green right among the top contenders to win the bout, several other superstars might do the unthinkable and win the briefcase.
WWE has demonstrated their belief in Lyra Valkyria‘s ability to become a major star. She’s already defeated Iyo Sky and, most recently, Becky Lynch. She advanced to the Queen of the Ring competition finals but was defeated by Nia Jax. She has a chance to be Ms. Money in the Bank even though she didn’t win the title of Queen. Another top-tier contender to win the match is Iyo Sky.
Given her array of matches lately, the company would not hesitate to give Iyo the Money in the Bank contract twice and make history. Naomi has demonstrated that she is at the peak of her career since returning to the Royal Rumble earlier this year. The only problem is that she hasn’t yet won anything noteworthy. Winning the briefcase might be the thing she needs to solidify her position at the top.
The Money in the Bank contract was meant for someone like Tiffany Stratton, even though Naomi would be a great fit. The briefcase would work wonders for Stratton, who is a young and rising talent. With her current persona, she would be an entertaining Ms. Money in the Bank. Her performances at Elimination Chamber and Backlash demonstrate how well-liked she is already among the crowd.
Stratton is obviously destined for greatness, so there’s no need to waste time trying to get her there. With such a deep contenders list, only time will tell how the company pulls out this massive match on July 6 in Toronto, Canada.
