Novak Djokovic has been carrying with him a glorified journey of having achieved multiple milestones and finessing his win over several top pros in the game.
Having won his first Grand Slam in 2008 after he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the championship round of the Australian Open, and has since registered 22 titles to his name.
Djoker’s victories and competing at the peak of his performance do ride along with the struggles the Serb faced and the challenges he overcame with the help of the required assistance he was provided.
The world No. 1 has been quite vocal about the troubles he faced during the 2010s era of his career. In an interview with Graham Bensinger, the Serb discusses what reasons tempted and urged him to get his nose operated on and make drastic changes to his diet.
Nole started by explaining how the respiratory issues he has faced since he was 7 years old started taking a gigantic toll on his overall performance on-court, forcing him to retire in several matches and being unable to compete at his level best.
“As the time was passing by all these allergies were gaining more intensity in terms of the reaction, it felt it getting stronger and the place where I felt it the most was always a tennis court,” added Novak.
Amidst facing these major health issues, Novak then decided to consult a mutual doctor and started working on his body per the “biofeedback” he got from the reports monitoring his health.
Following his comments, the American journalist then presents by saying that with the changes coming along Nole’s way and his losing weight, his family was cornered into being concerned about him.
“Yes they were initially concerned and I was actually starting to get rid of the red meat as well because I felt like I had to put a lot of energy into the digestive process to digest the meat and that would take a lot of essential energy that I need for my recovery,” added Novak to Graham’s query.
Djokovic’s journey towards eliminating the problems he faced repeatedly also forced him to change his diet plan and convert to a Vegan.
Why did Novak Djokovic become a Vegan?
During Novak Djokovic’s career period in 2010, he was facing major resistance from his body to hold up in competitive situations, disabling him to emerge victorious despite having the capability.
Following the treatments he received, Djokovic was advised to peel off layer-by-layer issues concerning the aggravated allergies he faced to understand the core of the discrepancies being caused in his body, and found out that his diet was the key to the solutions he wanted.
“The diet was one of the most integral parts of the problem and changing the diet was something that allowed me to get rid of the allergies and everything in particular, gluten and dairy, that I removed from my diet and I could sense there is an improvement,” commented Novak as he walked Graham through his journey of being converted to a Vegan to overcome the issues he faced.
