Novak Djokovic has returned to the tour like he had left a month back. The Paris Masters has ended, with the best player in the world taking the title. Djokovic was playing against Grigor Dimitrov for the 13th time on tour. Dimitrov had only defeated him once on tour at Madrid 10 years ago. But this time, Djokovic won the final and showed the fans why he is indeed the GOAT of the sport.
Dimitrov, after the final, was seen in tears and covered his face with a towel. Djokovic noticed Dimitrov in the middle of an interview and immediately rushed to hug and pat him. The Serbian told him it was okay, and Dimitrov kept his head high. “Class act as usual,” commented a fan after watching the video.
CLASS ACT AS USUAL.

Novak & Grigor are friends he knows how Grigor feels. That is so kind and gracious of Novak to reach out to Grigor there.

The world No.1 has now strengthened his position in the rankings. He has a 1500-point lead over Carlos Alcaraz and will next play in the Nitto ATP Finals. Meanwhile, Dimitrov has now 41 matches this season and has won 40 plus matches for the first time since 2017. The Bulgarian’s previous best performance in Paris was reaching the semifinals in 2019, where Djokovic beat him.
Novak Djokovic wins 97th tour title at Paris Masters
The final Masters 1000 of the 2023 season saw Djokovic winning his 97th career title. He now has 50 matches and seven titles in Paris. Djokovic also has won the last 10 matches against Dimitrov. It was their third meeting this season, and the world No.17 has only won a single set in those three matches. The 36-year-old dominated the short rallies and the long rallies in the final.
The first set saw Djokovic losing just two points on his first serve in the opening set. Dimitrov served much faster than his opponent but could not capitalize on the rallies. The 32-year-old could not break serve in both the sets. Djokovic only committed four unforced errors in the match, while Dimitrov hit eight in both sets. After an hour and a half, Djokovic won the match 6-4, 6-3.
The 24-time grand slam champion has won 40 Masters 1000 titles and six titles this season. Djokovic has increased the possibility of finishing the season on top of the rankings. It will be the eighth instance of him finishing on top of the season. Djokovic will rest for a few days before resuming his winning streak in Turin next week.
