Iga Swiatek is back on tour after a heartbreaking loss at the US Open. She lost in the fourth round to Jelena Ostapenko and has not played a match ever since. It has almost two weeks since fans have seen the player on the court. Swiatek is currently in Tokyo as the fans finally got the chance to ask questions of her. She was more than happy to talk to the fans and even gave out some hilarious answers.
Swiatek was asked about when she will complete a career grand slam in her career. The world No.2 was surprised and answered with a smile. She said, “OMG. When I don’t think I can answer you specifically but as soon as possible.” The fans showed her support as one fan commented, “Iga is so nice and funny, I love her,” after watching the video.

Swiatek is only 22 years old and has already won four grand slams. She is yet to lift the trophy at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Swiatek has reached the semifinals at the Australian Open, while at Wimbledon, she has reached the quarterfinals. The Polish player had posted about learning from her losses during the US Open. She will be playing in Tokyo without the pressure she had before.

Swiatek will be playing at the Toray Pan Pacific Open for the first time in her career. She will be the top seed at the event and has received a bye in the opening round. The matches have already begun, and Swiatek will be facing Mai Hontama for a place in the quarterfinals. The two-time French Open champion has a chance of meeting Veronika Kudermetova in the quarterfinals.
The eighth seed is yet to score a win against Swiatek in four meetings. Kudermetova has yet to take a set against the first seed and had won two games in their last meeting at Madrid this year. Swiatek is scheduled to face Jessica Pegula in the final of the event. Pegula has also yet to play any matches since losing in the fourth round of the US Open.

Swiatek will be aware of Maria Sakkari, who is fresh off winning the Guadalajara Open a few days ago. Sakkari has chances of clashing against Swiatek in the semifinals. Pegula and Sakkari need to collect as many points as possible in the next seven weeks to qualify for the year-end championships. Swiatek has already qualified and will make sure to let the WTA tour know that she has returned to action in Tokyo.
