Novak Djokovic has had a terrific run in the 2023 season. Apart from finishing the season as world No.1 for the eighth time, he also clinched a record seventh title at the Nitto ATP Finals. Djokovic won seven titles for the first time in a season since 2016. He contested in eight finals and only lost the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic is planning to win more in the 2024 season.Â
After winning the title in Turin, Djokovic spoke about his goals for the upcoming season. A reporter had asked him about his motivation for the 2024 season since he won four of the five main titles this year. Djokovic said, “Well you can still win four slams and an Olympic gold.”  He mentioned that he always keeps his ambitions high, and the drive is still there to win more in his career.
The Serbian even gave a thank-you speech in Italian on the court after winning the title. The crowd was silent as Djokovic spoke without hesitation and ended the speech in English for the fans. Djokovic will be next seen in the Davis Cup, as he does not intend to rest. Serbia will hope to form Djokovic to retake the lead against Britain.
Jannik Sinner opens up about Novak Djokovic after losing final at Turin
The 2023 Nitto ATP Finals saw Djokovic stopping Jannik Sinner from winning the biggest payout in tennis history. Sinner was unbeaten on the way to his final and had his chance of winning $4,801,000 as the undefeated champion. Even though the Serbian cut short his dream, Djokovic’s records and fitness this season inspired Sinner.
The Italian said that Djokovic will keep winning and knows he will be on the tour for some time. Sinner mentioned that his goal was to stay consistent like Djokovic, not just perform well in one season. The 22-year-old has won 61 matches this year, alongside four titles. He will be next seen at the Davis Cup when Italy plays against the Netherlands later this month.
