Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is a controversial figure. Throughout his career, Kyrgios has managed to be in the limelight, be it for his actions or his opinions. He has courted controversies, and one that stands out is his apparent feud with the rapper Drake. However, it looks like the 10-year-old beef has finally been settled.
Kyrgios has a reputation for being the ‘Bad Boy of Tennis.’ But his feud with Drake was an unexpected one. The Aussie made his dream debut at Wimbledon that year and defeated Jiri Vesely in the third round in four sets.
Kyrgios started slowly, as he lost the opening set, before bouncing back. Following his victory, Kyrgios revealed that he would not listen to Drake anymore since his songs did not help.
Drake was really annoyed with Nick’s comments at the time. “I also want to meet that guy and look him in the eye and see exactly who he is as a man and size him up and then chop him right down. Nick whatever-his-name-is — ’cause he didn’t win, so that’s how he’s going to be remembered: ‘Nick whatever-his-name-is,'” he said (via Si).
It seems that Drake took the initiative to bury the hatchet between them. The rapper reached out to Kyrgios on Instagram. Nick shared a screenshot of their messages on his account.

Nick Kyrgios has already had a terrible season. He has been on the sidelines throughout the year due to injuries and subsequent surgeries. Will the Drake curse make it worse for him next season? We surely hope not.
Drake featured on Nick Kyrgios’ Spotify Wrapped
Kyrgios is an avid music lover and is often seen vibing to songs before a match. He revealed his taste in music last year when he shared a screenshot of his Spotify Wrapped.
Every year, Spotify compiles the list of songs and artists the listener has enjoyed the most that year. For Kyrgios, artists such as Drake, Chris Brown, and Roddy Ricch featured in his Top 5 artists.
2022 was a good season for Nick, as he made quite a lot of deep runs at various tournaments. However, the cherry on the cake was making it to the Wimbledon final, even if he lost to Novak Djokovic.
