Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has been sensational at the US Open so far. He has carried over his good form from Toronto to New York City and is one of the strongest title contenders this year. However, something very special happened to him last night at the Louis Armstrong Stadium. Sinner finally met his biggest fans- the Carota Boys!
Jannik Sinner has shown his mettle time and again. He brought his A-game to Flushing Meadows to defeat 3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
It was not an easy match by any means, and Stan gave as good as he got. But in the end, Sinner finally defeated him in just under three hours. His victory was made sweeter by the presence of the Carota Boys, and he finally got to meet them in person.
Jannik Sinner spoke about the Carota Boys at the US Open:
“It means a lot. They left the stadium already..”
*Carota Boys magically reappear* 😂
“Thank you so much for your support!”

During the press conference, Sinner spoke about the Carota Boys. He added that it is always nice to see them whenever he plays. Sinner also thanked them for their unconditional support, and in his own words, “Our relationship just started,” (via US Open).
Following his on-court interview, Sinner made his way to the bleachers in person and met his biggest fans. The boys could not stop smiling as Sinner took a selfie with them.

With this victory over Stan, Sinner has now reached the Round of 16 at the US Open. The Carota Boys have been lucky for him and hopefully, they will be there when he faces Alexander Zverev next.
Who are the Carota Boys?
In any sport, it is very common to have dedicated fan clubs. Novak Djokovic has the NoleFam, Ons Jabeur has a fan who wears the Tunisian flag, and Coco Gauff has Jimmy Butler. The Carota Boys just so happen to be Sinner’s fan club. As the name suggests, it is a group of guys dressed as carrots.
It is not unusual to wonder why they dress as carrots. It began when Jannik ate a carrot during his match at the Vienna Open in 2019.
So who are they? Lorenzo, our first carrot, likes to travel, Francesco, carrot number two, loves tennis. Carrots three and four are Alessandro and Herberto, who love music and tennis respectively. Our last two carrots are Gianluca and Enrique.

They first appeared in Rome this year, but their destination was not just limited to Italy. They traveled to Paris, for their Grand Slam debut at the French Open.
The boys then made it to Wimbledon to watch Sinner play, who made it to the semifinal. Now they have crossed the Atlantic for their idol. It is amazing to see a group of dedicated fans, who will travel the world for their favorite player.
