Belarussian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has been phenomenal at the US Open so far. She has decimated all her opponents to book a place in the semifinals of the last Grand Slam of the year. Sabalenka has performed consistently and will reap the rewards as the new WTA world number one from next week.

The world number one is a heavy mantle to bear, but that does not mean they cannot have fun. And that is exactly what Sabalenka did recently.

Aryna participated in a fun new interview, where she was joined by DJ Mad Linx. The Belarussian was tasked with drawing a cat, and the entire process was as funny as a kitten chasing its tail.

Aryna gave the cat a blue jacket and pink pants and completed the look with red lipstick. Sabalenka was in splits as she drew the cat. The final result was hilarious and fans could not seem to get enough of Sabalenka’s antics.

One user wondered if it was a cat, an owl, or a mixture of both. “Is it an owl or a cat or a cowl?” they wrote. DJ Mad Linx acknowledged that Aryna is a great tennis player and has a great laugh, but is she a great painter? Perhaps not.

Aryna Sabalenka is a great sport for participating in this challenge. It was a nice change for her before the battle for the title ensued.

Aryna Sabalenka wanted to play her biggest opponent in the final

The Belarussian star will become the new world number one on Monday. Sabalenka will replace Iga Swiatek at the top since she has outlasted the Pole at the US Open. Swiatek and Sabalenka have one of the biggest rivalries on the tour at present.

Sabalenka has performed consistently this year, reaching the semifinal of all four Grand Slams. She also won her maiden Slam at the Australian Open earlier this year. But there is one thing that the big-hitting Belarussina wanted to do- play Swiatek in the final, with the number one rank on the line.

While Aryna has been breathing down Iga’s neck for a while now, a summit clash between them would have been exhilarating. Sabalenka wanted to battle it out for the prestigious WTA rank and the US Open Title.

“I thought she’s probably going to make it to the final. I was just thinking I’m going to do everything I can possible and impossible to reach the final and decide everything on court,” she said (via WTA Tennis).

However, Sabalenka acknowledged her own hard work to get to this place. Aryna Sabalenka might get her chance when they play for the year-end number one title. For now, Sabalenka is eyeing her second major title at the Flushing Meadows.
