Serena Williams has never ceased to amaze her fans and the global tennis community with her spectacular on-court performances and the buzz she brought with her.
Sadly for her fans, Williams made her decision to walk from the sport last year in 2022. Before walking down the retirement path for good, the American competed in the US Open 2022 as a part of her final professional appearances.
In a recent person-to-person interview with Norah O’Donnell on CBS News, Serena opened up about how she is under the distinct notion that there has been no evident change towards women of color in maternal health care disparities and also shared her post-traumatic experiences.
The story Williams shared dates back to when she went public about the horrendous and dismissive treatment she had to go through during their labor period, ultimately resulting in an emergency C-section.
In the interview, she quoted her experience saying “You know everyone has a birth story. People have started talking about how, unfortunately, Black moms don’t get the same care. I learned that some medical students were taught that race could determine a woman’s level of care or need.”
Despite having a history of pulmonary embolism, Serena’s requests were ignored by the medical staff and nurses which led to her suffering from the same after she gave birth. She further added by saying “I was shocked. These students are taught that black women don’t need treatment because they can handle so much more pain.”
Is Serena Williams pregnant with a second child?
Williams’ retirement decision apart from various reasons altogether, owed the majority of its contribution to her daughter Olympia Ohanian who Serena felt deserved more attention and time than what she was able to provide while constantly touring in the WTA.
Serena Williams’ uncanny love for her family, which includes her daughter Olympia and husband Alexis Ohanian, is unparallel to what athletes are often vocal about, and judging numerous speculations arising, the American might add another member to her family of three.

According to rumors, the 23-time Grand Slam might be planning to welcome their second child with her husband Alexis. This comes off as no surprise as Williams on numerous occasions has spoken about how Olympia wishes to have a sibling sister and by the looks of it, might fulfill her wishes.
