SUMMARY
- The new trailer for Challengers, starring Zendaya, was released recently.
- The actor came under fire for her forehand technique.
As the release date for ‘Challengers’ gets closer, the anticipation around this movie is at an all-time high. Zendaya, one of the top-billed actors in Hollywood, is headlining the cast. The latest trailer was released recently, and Zendaya has come under fire from tennis fans for her technique.
Challengers tells the story of Tashi Duncan, a tennis prodigy who turns to coaching after an injury ends her career. Zendaya plays Duncan in the Luca Guadagnino-directed film. She had to pick up a racket for her scenes and train hard to nail her movements and technique on the court. Even though she was dedicated, Zendaya revealed that the entire process terrified her.
Now it seems that Zendaya could not quite get her technique right. As the second trailer for the film dropped, fans picked apart her forehand.

Zendaya is well-known for giving her best in every role she plays, including that of Duncan. Even Coco Gauff’s coach, Brad Gilbert, helped her train for three months.
Unfortunately, fans are less than impressed. Many resorted to humor and jokes, ridiculing her swing. One user went so far as to confess that every time they see Zendaya’s forehand, “I start wheezing,” as another wished they had her forehand. Here are a few reactions.

While Zendaya might fall short on the technical aspects of tennis, she is sure to deliver yet another power-packed performance. The publicity will rake in the moolah when it releases.
What do we know about ‘Challengers’ starring Zendaya so far?
Challengers is going to be an R-rated movie. Luca Guadagnino, best known for films like Call Me by Your Name (2017) and Bones and All (2022), is at the helm of this movie.
The movie revolves around Tashi Duncan, the former player, and her husband, Art. Even though Art is on a losing streak, he must lock horns with Patrick, his former best friend, and Tashi’s ex.
Challengers was set to release at the Venice Film Festival last year, but the actors’ strike pushed the release date. As of now, the film is set for an April 26 release.
