The British player Emma Raducanu made her WTA tour debut in the year 2021. However, she entered the junior tennis championships long before then. Emma started her junior career when she turned 13 years old, that is in 2015.

Raducanu is a single child of a Romanian father and Chinese mother. Being raised in such a diverse background naturally, Emma can speak multiple languages. The 19-year-old is very well fluent in English, Romanian and Mandarin languages. There are occasions that Raducanu has interacted with her Chinese fans by speaking Mandarin. At the Transylvania Open 2021, Emma addressed the crowd by speaking in her Romanian tongue.
Moving on to her academic achievements, the British athlete has excellent knowledge of mathematics and economics just like her parents who work in finance background. She completed her studies in a selective grammar school- Newstead Wood School.
Raducanu considers the Romanian player Simona Halep and Li Na of China as her role models. She says Simona and Li are her models of ethics and mentality. In addition, Halep stated that Romania is proud of the 19-year-old’s US Open achievement and has adopted her as its own.
Currently, Raducanu is at her career-high ranking of No.11. The British athlete has advanced to the second round in the ongoing Madrid Open event. Raducanu defeated Tereza Martincová of Czech Republic in straight sets to move closer to the ATP 1000 title. Emma is set to play against the Ukrainian player Marta Kostyuk in the Round of 32.
