The 5-time Grand Slam champion who has presented phenomenal competitive charts to her name and won several major tournaments stands out to be one of the most promising tennis professionals.
In connection to heaps of people wanting to inquire about her more, the Russian hoped on a video to discuss every possible question she could answer and help ease enthusiasts’ lives in case they’ve been trying to make their way to the top of the ladder.
In an exclusive video with GQ Sports, Sharapova replies to fans who have interesting things to ask the star on the internet and helps them with their queries.
Going through the same, the Russian crosses a question where she is asked about her pre-match routine saying “What are your routines before the match?” to which she responds by detailing her usual course of action and her “boring” routine before stepping on the court.
“I have chicken and vegetables and maybe some rice, and then I listen to a little bit of music, like Florence and the Machine or Coldplay or U2, Bon Iver. Then I talk to my team, maybe have a little cat nap, for 10, or 15 minutes, and then I go out to play. It’s pretty boring,” highlighted Maria.
The former No. 1, unfortunately, hung her racket in 2020 after she decided to take her life to a whole set of other careers and experiences.

At the age of just 32 years old, Russian tennis professional Maria Sharapova finally decided to call in her retirement chit and leave behind an impressive career she built up for nearly two decades. Her calling quits came in connection to an elongated shoulder pain that hampered her performance throughout her time on the WTA Tour.
Discussing the details of the same, Sharapova in an interview gave her insight quoting “It’s a question that I went over and over in the last few months before announcing my retirement. You have to search within yourself and what you’re feeling. Also what your body is telling you and also what your mind is telling you.”
“I realized that I was showing off but not as a tennis player by now and I had lost sight of the competition. It became a hard and difficult process to manage but together with my team I realized that it was necessary to move forward and I could use many other better and perhaps more meaningful ways,” highlighted Maria who nearly two years before her retirement was slapped with a 2-year ban when she failed the drug test.
Post-retirement, Sharapova has been focused on her business portfolio which includes overseeing her company ‘Sugarpova’ and working with multiple brands per her endorsement deals. The Russian is also enjoying her motherhood as he gave birth to her son Theodore, who she had with her fiance Alexander Gikes.
