LaMelo LaFrance Ball is an American basketball player born in Anaheim, California on 22nd August 2001. He is the son of LaVar Ball, the founder of the defunct Junior Basketball Association (JBA).

LeMalo’s first experience with the game began during high school when he played for Chino Hills High School, California in the year 2015. Currently, he is playing for the team Charlotte Hornets of the NBA. Charlotte Hornets drafted LeMalo in the NBA draft of 2020. 

His professional career began with the Lithuanian basketball team, Prienai in 2018. He later moved to Los Angeles Ballers and Illawarra Hawks before his NBA debut on December 23, 2020. He became the NBA Rookie of the Year in the first Season (2020-2021).

In the next season, Ball was named to be the NBA All-Star game for the first time. He is also the second youngest player in the NBA right after LeBron James, to attain the record of 1000 points, rebounds, and assists. 

LeMelo recently suffered an injury and underwent surgery on March 1, 2023, and is now ruled out for this season.
