SUMMARY

- Unai excels with Aston Villa FC in 2023-24 season.
The Premier League team Aston Villa is managed by Spanish soccer manager and former player Unai Emery. Emery retired in 2004 from professional soccer, having played primarily in Spain’s Segunda División. He then moved into coaching and established himself as a renowned manager in the sport.
Unai is currently doing a brilliant job with the English soccer club Aston Villa FC this 2023-24 season. They have been playing wonderful soccer and are in 5th place just 1 point behind Spurs for the UCL qualification spots. However, over the last 2-3 matches they have been performing poorly and have seen a dip in form.

Their most recent loss came against Manchester United at Villa Park in a thrilling game. Recently a post went viral on X (formerly Twitter) in what looked like Unai Emery had a haircut or was losing hair. However, this is not the case as the image has been hampered by the use of an AI app known as “face app” which can change hairstyles. One should not be fooled by such images and must do a proper fact-check before jumping on the bandwagon.
Unai Emery talks about the injury issues at Aston Villa
After Diego Carlos became Villa’s 11th player to miss time this 2023-24 season due to injury, Unai Emery declared that the team’s injury situation was the worst he had ever encountered. Only a few days after Boubacar Kamara was declared out for the remainder of the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the Brazilian center-back could miss up to one month due to a hamstring injury he suffered during training.
Unai Emery has confirmed Boubacar Kamara has been ruled out for eight months – the third Aston Villa star to suffer an ACL injury 🤕

Unai was not happy about the injuries occurring and said, “It’s not an excuse. When injuries happen, I always accept it but of course, this is the worst. We are human and of course, we are going to support the players, particularly with ACL injuries.”
After Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia both went down in August of last year, Kamara is the third Villa player to sustain that injury (ACL) this season. Pau Torres (ankle) and Lucas Digne (hamstring) have just returned from layoffs, but Jhon Duran (hamstring) and Ezri Konsa (knee) are still sidelined.
Kieran Tierney blames his teammates for Unai Emery’s failure at Arsenal FC
Kieran Tierney acknowledges that a large portion of the fault for Unai Emery’s disastrous tenure at Arsenal rests with the players. The Spaniard, who had inconsistent success with the Gunners, is currently showcasing his management abilities in England with Aston Villa. After just eighteen months on the job at the Emirates, Emery was fired and Mikel Arteta was brought in to take his place.

Kieran said, “I loved working with Unai Emery. Unfortunately, us players never got the results he deserved. I don’t think it’s on him. He worked so hard, every single day he gave us everything, and ultimately we never got the results.”
It remains to be seen now how the two soccer clubs perform respectively in the remainder of the English Premier League 2023-24 season. Unai will be hoping to finish in the top 4 at the end of this season where as Arsenal FC and their manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to win the title this 2023-24 season.
