World Cup winner and Barcelona club legend Gerard Pique retired from soccer last season and currently operates his own King’s League in Spain. Recently during a podcast, the former defender has spoken in praise of former teammate Ferran Torres.
Ferran Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2022 and did not have the greatest of debut seasons. His performances for Spain were also below average with many fans quick to call him a flop.

Before the season started Ferran Torres had a tattoo made of a Phoenix bird after his breakup signifying his rise from the ashes. Gerard Pique posted the picture of a Phoenix bird referring to the tattoo made by Ferran.
Recently during a podcast, Pique goes head over heels for his former teammate saying that he is into the Ferran Torres movement and it also makes him horny. He goes on to say that he is currently an idol and on a whole other level. “He’s eating the world right now”.

Ferran Torres is referred to as the shark in the Barcelona dressing room so Pique before the pre-season posted a shark emoji and then linked a quote from the Spanish winger himself saying “On a mental level I’m a bull, no one is going to be able to beat me” a mindset that has helped him perform well this season.
How good has Ferran Torres been this season ?
Ferran Toress is an exciting young Spanish winger who has produced good results at City under Pep Guardiola which made Xavi bring him to Camp Nou. In his debut season, he scored only 7 goals in 45 appearances which was very disappointing. Fans were upset with the poor performance of another signing and wanted him to be loaned back to Valencia as there is room for development.
Xavi however did not lose hope and placed trust in Ferran. He was fully able to repay that trust by scoring in 2 out of 3 appearances. His performances have been praised by fans and pundits alike with Barcelona hoping to rely on him for goal-scoring as Lewandowski is no more at his peak.
Torres’s performance is not limited to club level as he scored two goals against Cyprus for Spain during the international break with that he has scored four goals in 85 minutes for both club and country.
Ferran Torres has now scored four goals in 85 minutes with Barça and Spanish national team this season 🇪🇸
He hadn’t been called up to national team since World Cup, came on in the 61st minute… scored twice in 22 minutes.

Ferran currently falls in the 99th percentile for goals per 90′; G+A per 90′ and expected goals per 90′. His current goals per 90 mins is a huge jump from his previous seasons 0.26 g/90′ which truly reflects how much he has improved.
With the season still in its initial days Ferran Torres needs to continue this form and Xavi will look to rely on his winger’s performance to get an extended run in the UEFA Champions League this time around.
