Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arne Slot looks very eager to join the 19-time Premier League club. The 45-year-old manager is reportedly happy with the contract proposal from Liverpool and has greenlit the move.
The Merseyside club will have to pay a huge compensation fee to Feyenoord, as there is no release clause in the contract of the Dutch manager. However, the fee shouldn’t be a problem as ‘The Reds’ look to finalize Arne Slot’s appointment as soon as possible.
Virgil van Dijk believes Arne Slot will be a perfect fit at Liverpool
The Liverpool players have already started preparing for the arrival of their new manager. The players are excited to play a different kind of soccer, as their current manager Jurgen Klopp will depart Liverpool after his illustrious tenure of 9 years. One such player is Liverpool’s defender Virgil van Dijk, who spoke very highly of Arne Slot.
The 32-year-old looked very positive about trying out the playing style of the Feyenoord manager. Virgil also believes that Liverpool is signing one of the best Dutch managers of this generation.

“With the way he plays, the philosophy he has, he can be a Liverpool coach”.

He said, “Arne Slot is one of the better Dutch coaches at the moment. With the way he plays, the philosophy he has, he can be a Liverpool coach”. Certainly, given the reputation and the great resume which includes an Eredivisie and a Dutch Cup title, Arne could be a great replacement for Jurgen Klopp.
However, Virgil van Dijk also informed that the agreement between Liverpool and Arne Slot is still not done yet. The Dutch defender believes that the doubts regarding the Merseyside club’s managerial position will be clear by the beginning of the next season.
Prominent Dutch journalist hails Arne Slot’s Pep-Guardiola style of soccer
Marcel van der Kraan, a reputed writer for the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, believes that Arne Slot is perfect for the managerial position at Liverpool. He believes that the Feyenoord manager’s attractive brand of soccer which resembles that of Pep Guardiola will be very well received by the Liverpool fanbase.
And Marcel says, that given the success that Arne Slot has overseen at Feyenoord, it is only fitting that a club of Liverpool’s stature has come knocking. It looks like the Merseyside club have hit the jackpot with Arne Slot according to Marcel van der Kraan.
The Dutch journalist said in a podcast with talkSPORT, (via TEAMTALK), “It was only a matter of time before another big English club would come knocking on the door. He’s not only been a successful manager, he’s also been hugely impressive with his playing style of very attack-minded, Pep Guardiola-style football.”

Marcel revealed that Arne Slot is a pretty revered figure in the Dutch soccer scene, which is why he has received one of the biggest contracts from a Dutch club in history. The Dutch journalist urged Arne Slot to move abroad as he had nothing left for Arne Slot to win in the Netherlands. Marcel believes that his attractive playing style can really pay dividends in the Premier League.
He said, “He’s been a successful coach and made Feyenoord champions playing crazy, sexy football. It is sexy what this man brings on a football pitch. There’s nothing more to win for him here.”
The writer for De Telegraaf believes that going to the Premier League will be the perfect step for Arne Slot’s career. The Dutch soccer fraternity is quite excited about Arne Slot’s move to Liverpool.
However, it wouldn’t be that easy for the Dutch manager to adapt to the English league very quickly. The Premier League is one of the most difficult soccer leagues in the world, and Arne has never coached a team on such a big stage. Therefore, Arne Slot will have to be very careful about his approach regarding his playing style, if the deal with Liverpool goes through.
