Kylian Mbappe was the difference-maker when PSG played Reims in their latest Ligue 1 match. The French winger scored a hat trick in the match, but it wasn’t enough for the manager of the French club, Luis Enrique.
Luis Enrique talked to Amazon Prime after the match about the performance. He commented: “I am not very happy with Kylian today. Why? Because managers are so strange. About goals, I have nothing to say, I have no complaints. But I think he can help the team a lot in a different way because he’s so important.”
Damn that’s unnecessary

The Spanish boss went on to add that he will inform the details about the performance to Mbappe himself and those details will never be released to the public. Enrique concluded by stating that Mbappe is one of the best players in the world, but the team needs more from the star forward.
The comments from the PSG boss puzzled the fans. They argued that the hat trick from Mbappe was a sensational performance from the French forward. Whereas, some also point out that these comments could have been avoided and discussed internally to protect the player. Instead, Enrique opened the discussion by commenting in the post-match interview.

Comments like “Damn that’s unnecessary,” “Why Enrique is that mad“? “You want more after he just scored a hat trick? No encouragement“? “What more does he have to do“? and “He needs to leave PSG bruh,” echoed the sentiments of the fans. The comments are also shocking considering Mbappe is yet to sign an extension with the French club.
Kylian Mbappe comments on his own performance
Mbappe also commented on his performance after the match with Reims. Talking to Amazon Prime, the French forward commented: “In all modesty, I don’t need to be playing well to score goals, but I want to do both, score goals and play well. That is my objective, to always help the team as well as I can.”
The French superstar was also critical of his performance, which aligns with the review of Luis Enrique. Against Reims, Mbappe played the full 90 minutes, apart from scoring three goals. Mbappe created one chance and took nine shots, he hit the woodwork once and completed 75% of his dribbles. He took 58 touches in the games and was dispossessed only twice.
🔴🔵 Hat-trick today… and 15 goals in 15 games this season for Kylian Mbappé.

On a closer look, Mbappe could improve on his creative side of the game and the buildup of the team play. Since the exit of Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi in the summer, the French club lacks a creative hub in the forward line. Being the star player of the club, Enrique demands more from the French forward to help the team on all fronts.
The result against Reims was the perfect response to the defeat against AC Milan in the UCL, however, the French club needs to improve their overall output to compete on all fronts. Kylian Mbappe has scored 15 goals in 15 matches in all competitions, but the rest of the forward line needs to pick up their output to improve the Paris-based club.
Looking forward, PSG will host third-place Monaco in a highly anticipated league clash in their next match. They will look to maintain their one-point lead over Nice in second place in Ligue 1. The league fixture with Monaco will be the last match before the international break.
