Norwegian super-striker Erling Haaland has thrilled the fans with yet another super performance as he puts his name on the scoresheet for Manchester City in four of the last five matches of this Premier League season. The star striker helped the Citizens have another successful win as they thrashed West Ham United with a 3-1 victory.
Man City was looking well into trouble as David Moyes’ boys were dominating the game well in the first half. West Ham’s new addition, James Ward-Prowse, who’s no stranger to the Premier League having joined from Southhampton, scored a phenomenal header from inside the box in the 36th minute of the match to give the Hammers a slender 1-0 lead. The scoreline then remained unchanged until the end of the first half.
However, the second half was not the same as Man City’s new Belgium attacker Jeremy Doku scored a sensational goal just 43 seconds into the second half. Manchester City then showed the attacking flair of their game plan with multiple attempts on goal. But West Ham shot-stopper Alphonso Areola seemed to have the answer to them all.

However, Bernardo Silva broke the tie as he scored in the 76th minute to give City a 2-1 lead. And to seal the deal, Haaland scored the third goal for the team in the 86th minute and helped the team keep their record clean in the Premier League once again.
After scoring the goal, Haaland was seen doing a chaotic celebration where he went towards the corner flag. But then he fell halfway to the ground and rolled over.
Fans seem to have found the celebration to be a bit confusing. Many even took to social media to talk about Haaland’s performance and celebration. One fan wrote, “He’s chaotic, I love it.” Another fan appreciated the striker for his goal-scoring talent as he said, “The greatest striker in EPL.” And a third fan who got confused with the player’s goal celebration said, “What was he doing?”

So far, Haaland seems to have kept his last season’s form intact. The player has already scored seven goals in just five matches for Manchester City. This takes his overall tally for Manchester City to 59 goals. It remains to be seen if Haaland will keep showing his talent throughout the season as he did in the previous one. Or will the opponents finally find a way to stop the former Borussia Dortmund man?

Messi is the player with the most Ballon d’Or in the history of the sport. The player has had an excellent season with Argentina as he helped his team to win the World Cup trophy after 36 years. He is also the Golden Ball Award winner as he was the player with the most MVPs in the tournament.
Apart from the international achievements, the player also scored 21 goals for the French Champions Paris-Saint-Germain last season and made 20 assists as well. Last season, the Argentine maestro won the Ligue 1 title for the second time and the French Super Cup.
With the date of the award ceremony approaching, it remains to be seen who wins the award in the end. Will it be Messi who lifts it for the record eighth time? Or will it be the Norwegian star who lifts the Ballon d’Or for the first time? Only time can tell.
