Trent Alexander-Arnold was promoted to the main squad of Liverpool back in the summer of 2016. Since then, the right-back has established himself as one of the key members of the English side. During the last seven years, Trent has exponentially improved his game on all fronts.
While the right-back is already considered as one of the best right back in Premier League history. There are still some issues that he can improve on to cement himself at the top of everyone’s list. The most immediate issue is his injuries. While the issue isn’t as severe as in the case of Recee James. However, the English international can still improve a lot in this category.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has missed 47 days in the 2023/24 season
In the current season, Trent has missed 50 days for Liverpool with two different injuries. He had a Hamstring injury at the start of September 2023 that kept him out for 25 days. He missed six games for Liverpool and England during that period.

The right-back was again injured at the start of January 2024 due to Torn lateral knee ligament. The injury kept him out for 22 days before he made his return against Norwich in the FA Cup on January 28. Trent has been essential for Jürgen Klopp in recent years because there isn’t a quality replacement for him that can match his attacking output for the team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s worst season in terms of injuries
The current season is still an improvement for Trent compared to 2021/22. In that season, the right-back missed 80 days of action for Liverpool and England due to four different issues. He missed 39 days and eight games for England in June and July 2021 due to a hamstring injury.
He missed another four games and 17 days in October 2021 due to another muscular problem. Furthermore, he was forced to sit for another 10 days in January 2022 due to the coronavirus. The hamstring issue returned in March 2022 which kept the full back out for 14 days.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s mentality is something else. Last season he got covid and had two muscle injuries that kept him out for weeks. But he saw it as opportunities to grow, found methods to work on his peripheral sight to improve his decision-making and improved his physique.

Since 2018/19, Trent Alexander-Arnold has missed 230 days with 12 issues. Among these, hamstring issues have been recurring for the full-back, which might be frustrating for him. The fullback is still only 25 years old and still has a long career ahead of him. He needs to work on his fitness more to ensure that the 2021/22 season does not repeat in the future.
