Premier League giants Arsenal are set to miss Ghana international Thomas Partey in their clash against domestic rivals Manchester United tomorrow. The midfielder is out of the squad for a few months due to the injury.

According to reports, Partey was in the training session for the club’s clash against the Red Devils but unfortunately caught another injury in his hamstring in training, eliminating him from the pitch for the next three months. This might have caught manager Mikel Arteta, who expected the midfielder to be a part of his squad for tomorrow’s match.

The Ghanaian was part of the first three of the Gunners’ opening league games. He was substituted in the 56th minute of Arsenal‘s 2-2 draw against Fulham, but there didn’t appear to be an issue.

The midfielder’s future at Arsenal was uncertain this summer as reports of strong interest from Saudi Arabia emerged. However, Partey remained with the Gunners and seems to be a starter alongside Declan Rice in midfield this season.

With this injury,  Arteta might need to tinker with his strategy. It would be utterly disappointing for the manager to lose a player like Partey before a game as important as Manchester United. It is to be seen how Arteta switches his tactics or whom he appoints to take Parley’s place tomorrow.

Thomas Partey’s injury throughout his career

Former Athletico Madrid star Thomas Partey has been one of the best midfielders of his generation. The 30-year-old midfielder has played for a few of the top clubs in his career. But over the years, the player has also faced a lot of injuries, which have resulted in him losing his precious game time.

The player has been very unlucky with injuries so far. Over the years, the player has mostly faced issues with a hamstring injury but has also had ankle, hip, and muscle injuries.

Over the last 10 years as a professional footballer, the star has missed approximately 289 days due to injury. This means the player has missed almost 29 days each season because of injuries.

His last injury was in September 2022. From this, he recovered within 8 days. But now the shock seems to have returned for manager Arteta, as the club’s midfielder Partey has incurred an injury and is reported to be out for almost three years. Last season, even with the injury, the midfielder played matches for Arsenal while scoring three goals as he secured 2693 minutes on the pitch.

With Partey speculated to be out for the next three months and Jurrien Timber already injured, Arteta would reportedly need someone from the rest of his available stars to take over Partey’s spot during their upcoming matches. It is, however, to be seen who Arteta chooses to be in the middle of the park for the Gunners tomorrow as they face Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United.
