FIFA has recently announced the top five nominees for the Best Coach of the Year award. The fans can vote for their favorite nominee until October 6, 2023.
Few of the names of the top five nominees have been a shock for the soccer world while others were much anticipated. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi, and Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti are there in the list along with FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.
Fans, however, have had mixed reactions to this nomination. While many are happy with the five nominees, few have also shown that they aren’t really happy with a few names on the list.

Many even took to social media to voice their opinion. One fan wrote, “Xavi is sitting pretty on this list with his beautiful League trophy. Some were comparing him to Arteta the bottler and De Zerbi the small coach.” Another fan while talking about the list, said, “This award is no secret that Guardiola is gonna bag it.” A third fan was surprised by Postecoglou’s selection and said, “So fifa is saying Postecoglu had a better season than Arteta.”

Guardiola is reportedly the favorite to win the award after an amazing treble-winning season. With the voting period still on, it is to be seen who amongst these five champions won the Best Manager award.
Top 5 Nominees of FIFA’s Best Manager Award 2023
FIFA has recently released the names of the top 5 nominees for the Best Managers. Although there are a few expected figures, a few unexpected ones have also made their way to the top five. Let us closely take a look at each of their previous season.
1. Pep Guardiola
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly one of the favorites to win the award this year. The manager had an amazing season last year. Last season, the Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager, won three trophies, namely, the Premier League, the Carabao Cup, and the UEFA Champions League. But the manager at the EFL Cup and the Community Shield.
2. Simone Inzaghi
Another nominee, Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi had a fair season last season. His team won a Coppa Italia for the second consecutive time. Inter, under him, secured this season’s Champions League spot after being third in the league’s table last season with 72 points. He also took his team to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season where they were heartbroken with a defeat against Pep’s Man City.

3. Luciano Spalletti
The Italian manager Luciano Spalleti had a dream run with another Serie A side Napoli. Under his guidance, the team won the Serie A trophy for the first time in 36 years. He also led his team to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. But were thrashed out of the tournament by league rivals AC Milan.
Following the end of the season, Spalletti communicated with the club’s hierarchy and left his job as he said he wanted to take a break. But later he replaced Roberto Manchini on the Italian National Team.
4. Xavi Hernandez
The former club midfielder and now manager, Xavi Hernandez has been nothing short of a dash of fresh air for FC Barcelona. Last season, the club had a fairly good performance. Xavi’s Barcelona won La Liga and Supercopa de Epanana. The club also reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. However, they didn’t have a great performance at the UEFA Champions League as they were knocked out of the group stage.

5. Ange Postegcoglou
The current Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is the former manager of the Scottish side Celtic. The manager had a trophy-laden last season at the club last year. He helped the club win the Premiership, League Cup, and the Scottish Cup. The manager also helped the club reach the Champions League but the team was unfortunately out of the tournament right after the group stages.
