SUMMARY
- Chelsea suffered a heavy 0-5 defeat against Arsenal.
- To add to their misery, former Chelsea man Kai Havertz scored 2 goals for Arsenal in the match.
It was a sweet North West London derby victory for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal thrashed bitter rivals Chelsea in their recent Premier League clash. It was an important victory for Arsenal as their hopes of a league title after two decades remain hanging in the air. For Chelsea, however, the defeat was simply a testament to how dismal their season has been so far.
Arsenal wasted no time in getting off to a great start as Leandro Trossard’s goal inside five minutes put his team in the lead. Arsenal defender Ben White managed to get a brace while ex-Chelsea star Kai Havertz also scored two goals to sink his former club. It was one of the heaviest defeats in Chelsea’s history, and was just one goal shy of the club’s worst defeat, 0-6 against Manchester City back in 2019.

Although, there was an interesting detail that several fans might have missed during the Arsenal-Chelsea game. During the game on Tuesday, while Chelsea gave updates on the score line on their social media platforms, they avoided mentioning Kai Havertz’s name. While some might think it to be a coincidence, the club’s social media handle did mention Trossard and White’s name for the remaining Arsenal goals.
While it could have been that Chelsea wanted to avoid taking the name of their former player, Havertz showed no signs of hesitation before celebrating after scoring against his former club. Nevertheless, the German international would continue to be a part of Chelsea’s legacy. After all, Havertz did score the decisive goal that won Chelsea its second Champions League title back in 2021.
Fans call out Chelsea admin after refusing to acknowledge Kai Havertz
The Chelsea admin’s refusal to acknowledge their former player Kai Havertz during the 5-0 loss to Arsenal is making waves on the Internet. Several fans shared their hilarious reactions and opinions on social media platforms and mocked Chelsea for not taking the name of their ex-star. There were comments like, “They can’t remember his name,” and, “They so ashamed their Blud doing them dirty,” from the fans.
Other fans trolled the club’s admin for having to tweet about Arsenal’s goals and not even mentioning Havertz once. The fans trolled Chelsea and wrote, “The Admin should have just slept, there was no need of posting.” However, some section of fans sided with Chelsea and explained how the club might have felt betrayed after their former player celebrated after scoring against them.
Martin Odegaard leads the way as Arsenal thrash Chelsea 5-0
Meanwhile, it was a brilliant Martin Odegaard who led the way during Arsenal’s 5-0 rout of Chelsea. The Arsenal skipper was absolutely brilliant yesterday, dictating the play and threatening the Chelsea defense. The Norwegian star created several chances in the game, including his razor-sharp assist for Kai Havertz’s first goal.

The likes of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey, and Leandro Trossard also put in excellent performances after Arsenal’s recent defeats against Aston Villa in the league and Bayern Munich in the UCL. Surprisingly, Ben White managed to get a rare brace and also put in a solid shift defensively. For Chelsea, the woes continued both in attack and defense, as Nicolas Jackson was once again wasteful in front of the goal.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez also had a dismal night at the Emirates Stadium and looked hardly involved in the game. Following the match, however, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino lamented the result but refused to blame his players. Upon being asked whether he felt let down by his players, Pochettino said, “No, not let down. There are too many details and circumstances for why this happened.”
However, time may be running out for the Argentine coach after his side’s continued string of disappointing results. With a Champions League spot out of question, being knocked out of the FA Cup, and being ninth in the league, Pochettino’s Chelsea needs to finish the last few games strongly if they have any hopes of salvaging the season.
