Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently shared an intriguing insight into his long-term relationship with partner Helena Seger. In an exclusive interview with Piers Morgan on the ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ series on TalkTV, Ibrahimovic opened up about his unconventional relationship status.
He revealed that he had proposed to Seger a couple of years ago, but she had declined his marriage offer.
Ibrahimovic expressed his perspective on the matter. “Because I said after twenty years, you deserve to be married to me. She said I don’t need to be married to be with you. She is strong,” he shared.
As for the possibility of another proposal in the future, the star made it clear that it wouldn’t happen. “No. She will not get a second chance. She has two boys from me. So that’s even bigger than being married,” he declared.

Zlatan and Helena’s enduring relationship began over two decades ago back in 2002 when they met in an unlikely setting—an argument over a parking space in Malmo, Sweden. Helena, speaking about their initial encounter, said, “He had parked his Ferrari badly. He had done so in a way that prevented my Mercedes from coming out. Quite gruffly, I told him to move it out of the way, and yes, he saw something that he liked.”
In interviews, Helena has expressed her concerns, about getting married because she feels it would interfere with her sense of independence. She wants to be recognized for more than being a player’s wife or a beauty contest winner.
Helena Seger is well known for her philanthropic work and has actively supported her causes throughout the years. Her decision to prioritize her independence and personal achievements over status highlights the strength and individuality that define her relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic questions the motives of stars joining Saudi Pro League
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has raised eyebrows by questioning the motives of some of the world’s soccer stars who have recently moved to the Saudi Pro League. Players like Neymar, Riyad Mahrez, Fabinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, and even high-profile manager Steven Gerrard have all been enticed by opportunities in Saudi Arabia in search of challenges.
Ibrahimovic, who retired from soccer in June, revealed that he himself received an offer from Saudi Arabia but decided not to pursue it. Instead, he concluded his career with AC Milan after returning to Europe in 2019 after a period with LA Galaxy.
🎙️ Zlatan Ibrahimović on players moving to Saudi Arabia:
“I think players that reach a certain level, they have to stop at a certain stage – the big stage.
“I had an offer also from China, I had an offer also from Saudi. But the situation is, what do you want? What objectives… pic.twitter.com/jDRvj2Fvba

During an episode of the ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ series Ibrahimovic discussed the choices made by players as they approach the stages of their careers.
He stated, “You have to be remembered for your talent, not for what you earned. Because if you were remembered in the opposite way, what we are training every day for, what we are being recognized for, is our talent, and that’s what you want to be remembered for.”
Ibrahimovic holds the belief that players who have reached a stage in their careers should end their journey at the level of the sport. According to him, moving to a higher level diminishes the impact they have made throughout their careers.
