In a recent interview, Shakira opened up about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique. The celebrity pair of Shakira and former Barcelona star Pique ended last year amidst a lot of controversies. It was reported that Shakira’s reason for deciding to separate from Pique was the soccer star’s infidelity. During the interview, Shakira revealed the culprit who she believes is responsible for “cheapening” her relationship with Pique.

Last year, Shakira talked about her break-up during an interview with the popular fashion brand, Elle. During the interview, Shakira talked about the tough phase that she had to go through following her break-up. She said, “All of this while my dad has been in the ICU and I’ve been fighting on different fronts. As I said, this is probably the darkest hour of my life.“
Shakira also talked about how the media further destroyed her relationship with Pique during the interview. She said, “What’s also real is the disappointment to see something as sacred and as special as I thought was the relationship I had with my kids’ father and see that turned into something vulgarized and cheapened by the media.” She went on to talk about how women all over the world have to face similar struggles.
The Colombian singer said, “For those women, like me, to see that dream broken or shredded into pieces is probably one of the most painful things that you can go through.” Shakira and Pique finally separated from each other after being together for almost 12 years. While Pique has already found his new partner in Clara Chia Marti, Shakira is yet to give any update about her dating life.
Shakira releases merchandise for her latest song
Shakira released a song in January this year, which was aimed as a diss track against her ex-boyfriend, Pique. The song was titled Music Sessions #53, where the Colombian star collaborated with Argentine rapper Bizarrap. As soon as the song was released, it went viral. Currently, the song has 337 million views on YouTube.

Shakira’s song was filled with digs aimed at Pique. There were certain lines that insulted Pique and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia. There were lines like “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. The Waka Waka singer has released a new limited edition white sweatshirt. As per reports from the Spanish newspaper Diario AS, the sweatshirt is designed by Shakira’s niece. The sweatshirt’s design contains some of the Colombian singer’s favorite lyrics from her latest song. The line “Women don’t cry, women pay their bills,” is printed on the sweatshirt in Spanish.
