After the game, Ramos spoke with journalists on the pitch side and answered a shout from a fan in the stands. The Real Madrid soccer icon interrupted his post-match interview with DAZN to start a tirade of loud and intense ranting on Football Espana: “We’re talking. Respect the people and the badge, what are we talking about? Show some respect and shut up now.”
Before making his debut in the first squad in 2004 at the age of 18, Ramos spent 8 years in Sevilla’s youth. He completed a £25 million ($31.8 million) transfer to the Spanish giants, Real Madrid in 2005, setting a record at the time for a Spanish defender.
Sergio Ramos reveals his reason for choosing Sevilla FC over other clubs
According to Sergio Ramos, he declined offers from the MLS and Saudi Arabia to rejoin Sevilla. After graduating from Sevilla’s youth program in 2005, Ramos moved on to develop into a Real Madrid superstar, winning four FIFA Club World Cups, five La Liga titles, and the UEFA Champions League.
Ramos said regarding his Sevilla move, “Sometimes everything happens for a reason and I believe in energy. For me, it was a dream to return here. The time to return was now, as I could help the club in a delicate moment, and the economic issue has not been a problem because we solved it in five seconds,”

After spending 16 fruitful seasons with Real Madrid, Ramos played for two seasons at the Ligue 1 powerhouse, making 58 games. Ramos disclosed via Relevo that he declined proposals from both the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer (MLS) as well as a new two-year contract at PSG to rejoin his childhood team.
It remains to be seen how Sevilla FC perform in the remainder of the 2023-24 season as they have been performing extremely poorly. Having taken over as manager of Watford in mid-December, Quique Sanchez Flores is Sevilla’s third manager of the year after Diego Alonso and Jose Luis Mendilibar were fired earlier in the year.
