Megan Rapinoe has been a consistent performer for the United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) over the years. The 38-year-old forward is regarded as one of the best women’s soccer players that the country has ever produced.
On the international stage, Megan Rapinoe has reportedly played 197 matches for the USWNT in her career so far. The left-winger has also scored 62 goals for his country in these matches. She also won the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019.
Megan has played for some of the clubs, like Sydney FC in Australia, Lyon (women) in France, and recently for OL Reign (women) in America. For OL Reign, the 38-year-old has featured in a total of 132 games so far, having scored 54 goals.
Reports say the winger suffered an injury scare (evident ankle injury) during her team’s recent NWSL final clash against Gotham FC. The player, after sitting down on the field for a while, got the medical team’s attention. But he was later reportedly limped off the field.

The incident took place within the initial five minutes of the match. As per earlier reports, Megan declared that she would retire at the end of the ongoing NWSL season. So, the game was reportedly termed her last professional match.

There was an earlier reported incident of the winger listening to her own music in public. One of the fans ironically remembered the incident and inflicted, “Did Rapione limp off to her own motivational music?” It can be inferred from the reactions of the fans that they have shown no mercy to the USWNT star player after her recent injury trouble.

The 38-year-old forward has often suffered devastating ACL injuries in her career. As per the earlier reports, due to her ACL problems, the player didn’t feature for her national side in the consecutive years of 2007 and 2008.
The veteran player was also reportedly sidelined for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2007. Due to her ACL injury problems. However, further reports state that the forward first underwent an ACL injury in the earlier stages of her career while playing at the University of Portland during her sophomore season.
The OL Reign’s forward recent exit from the NSWL final match was also related to her ankle problems. As it was her last professional outing, the club management would have hoped to see her play the full ninety minutes.
