Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has no fear of losing their Champions League title in 2024. The Spaniard was asked in a recent interview about not being able to defend their title this season. City’s manager showed no signs of nervousness relating to their chances of winning the competition again.
Pep Guardiola said, “For our club to win the Champions League is something incredible.. The hardest thing is to win the first one”. Manchester City is considered one of the favorites to win the title again this time around. Now, with these comments from their manager, the fans would be rejoicing in the confidence of their manager.

Further, when asked about whether he would like to win it again, the 52-year-old responded in a diplomatic manner. A former Barcelona manager said, “Go for it, try it, at least try it”. The Spaniard was of the opinion that he had never previously won the competition two times in a row. However, this season, it will be his aim to do it with his club, Manchester City.

Manchester City fell short of winning the title in the 2020-2021 season. They were defeated by their Premier League rivals, Chelsea, in the final of the tournament. Also, they were knocked out of the competition in 2021-2022 at the semi-final stages at the hands of Real Madrid.
However, City bounced back and won the UEFA Champions League title in the 2022-2023 season. They defeated Inter Milan in the final by one goal to nil and picked up their first Champions League trophy. The competition has never been so easy for them. Despite being so successful at the domestic level, they have not been able to dominate the Champions League till now.
Can Pep Guardiola and Manchester City repeat their previous Champions League triumph this season?
With their talisman, Erling Haaland, in fine form, Manchester City will look to defend their Champions League crown. City is fresh from winning the Premier League for three back-to-back seasons. They are completely unstoppable on the domestic front. They also won the FA Cup in 2023. The club completed the treble in the form of the Champions League in 2023.
With such success in recent times, it would be tough for their opponents in the Champions League to stop them. Erling Haaland broke the record for most goals in the Premier League the previous season. The striker netted thirty-six goals, for his Golden Boot. He just can’t stop scoring. This season, the player has started off by scoring seven goals in just five matches.
With the current form, it seems like Manchester City is more than capable of repeating their previous Champions League win this season. However, it remains to be seen if everything falls into place for Pep Guardiola and his side.
