Paulo Dybala has resurrected his career at AS Roma. The Argentine joined the Italian side ahead of the 22/23 Serie-A season. He has quickly become a fan favorite and is an indispensable figure for the AS Roma squad. The number 10’s contract at the Italian side runs until the end of the 24/25 season, but his shocking release clause can let Paulo leave AS Roma relatively early.
According to the journalist Fabrizio Romano, Paulo Dybala can leave Serie A as soon as January 2024. The Italian newspaper has reported that the Argentine has two release clauses inserted in his contract.
One release would be for the Italian clubs and the other for the clubs from abroad. Both the clauses would be in the region of $15-16 million. The two clauses would be valid during the summer and the winter transfer windows of 2024.

But, the most interesting part of his contract is that AS Roma doesn’t have much say on Dybala’s future. It can only reject proposals from Italy. In case of any foreign bids, only Paulo Dybala’s decision matters, and the Italian club is left hopeless.
The clubs interested in signing the Argentine can put in an offer for the Argentine as early as January 2024. The player is up for grabs as his January release clause would be valid until January 15, 2024. However, if no clubs can match the valuation, there is still a way for Paulo Dybala to leave the club. His 2nd release clause will be valid from July 1 to July 31, 2024.
Dybala has been a crucial figure for the AS Roma outfit since he joined the club in the summer of 2022. Jose Mourinho, AS Roma’s head coach dearly adores the FIFA World Cup 2022 winner. The Portuguese manager praised Dybala by saying (via Mirror):
“My sensation is that [Dybala] was seeking the joy he had lost more than confidence. He found it here, with a squad that understands him, a coach that loves him, a position on the field with players like Pellegrini, Cristante and Mancini he has strong characters around him in leadership roles.”
However, despite this Paulo Dybala is reportedly furious at the AS Roma board for not rewarding him with a contract extension. The World Cup winner with Argentina is reportedly leaving the club in January 2024.
Some big names are interested in signing Paulo Dybala
AS Roma in 2022 presented Paulo Dybala with a golden opportunity to revive his career. The Argentine creative player was brilliant with Juventus in his early years, but his form somewhat stagnated in the later half of his tenure at the Bianconerri. But with Roma, Paulo has dazzled with creativity and flair.
In his first season, Paulo gave out 25 goal contributions in 38 appearances for the Italian club. In his first 12 appearances for Roma in the 23/24 season, the 30-year-old has 10 goal contributions.

His heroics have alerted the Premier League clubs. Manchester United could move in for the AS Roma player. ‘The Red Devils’ have only one creative player in the form of Bruno Fernandes and Erik ten Hag would like to relieve some pressure off the shoulder of the Portuguese.
Besides, United the other Premier League club that is interested in signing Dybala is Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are set to lose Son Heung Min for a month, as he is representing his country, South Korea in the AFC Asian Cup. Other than Son, the North London team is also missing their creative player James Madison, who’s out injured.
Inter Milan could also move for the Argentine. The Nerazzurri were very close to agreeing on a deal with Paulo in 2022 until AS Roma arrived with their bid. The Saudi clubs too would be keeping tabs on the 30-year-old.
