Former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward, Javier Hernández, or Chicharito, had some words for his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo. In a recent interview with Paramount+, the LA Galaxy forward shared his experience as a teammate of Ronaldo.
Chicharito spoke about the advantages of having Ronaldo as a teammate. According to him, it’s better to have Ronaldo as a teammate than your competitor. He further added that Ronaldo’s impact on the pitch is well documented, but not many people mention how good he is with his teammate in the locker room.
Chicharito concluded the topic by stating, “His presence is something exceptional and great. I have not met or seen any player and I can confirm that. Any player has come out and said that Chris is a difficult or complicated person.”
The Mexican player played with Ronaldo during the 2014/15 season in a loan spell from Manchester United to Real Madrid. Chicharito played 33 games for Real Madrid that season, scoring nine goals and nine assists.

“Beyond respect and admiration and everything that is unbelievable is having Cristiano with you as a partner. Imagine well! The advantage of having him as a teammate and not a competitor, playing alongside him is unbelievable.”

These comments from former teammate Ronaldo add another layer to the controversial exit of the Portuguese from Manchester United back in November 2022. Ronaldo was released by the English club after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The exit stemmed from a falling out with current Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag.
During that time, there were speculations that Cristiano Ronaldo was difficult behind the scenes at Old Trafford due to his limited game time. However, these new comments from Chicharito slam those complaints and add some perspective.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s numbers since leaving Manchester United
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League after his exit from Manchester United. Since joining the club in January 2023, the forward has regained his goal-scoring form with regular game time.
The Portuguese forward has played 27 matches in all competitions for the club, scoring 23 goals and seven assists. In the new season, he currently leads the scoring charts with nine goals and has helped the Riyadh-based club crawl back to fifth place after back-to-back defeats in the opening two matches.

The Portuguese struck a partnership with attacking midfield, Anderson Talisca during the second half of last season. In the new season, he has formed a lethal partnership with former Liverpool player and new signing Sadio Mané.
Al-Nassr currently has 15 points in seven matches and trails the league leaders Al-Ittihad by three points. They will shift their focus to playing Al-Tai FC away from home in the league. Al-Nassr would hope that Ronaldo and Sadio Mané continue their hot streak to close the gap with the league leaders.
