Leo’s teammate further expressed – “These are the things that remain inside him (Messi). You don’t have to tell him anything because it ends up turning on and it’s worse”. Earlier during the FIFA World Cup 2022, Leo was tackled by Lewandowski while he had the ball at his feet.
The Poland captain although was quick to lend Messi an expression of regret. However, Argentina’s number ten seemed quite displeased by the tackle from Lewandowski and refused to shake hands with his counterpart. Leo was also spotted verbally confronting the Polish player, after the incident.

As per a report from ‘GOAL’ Robert Lewandowski revealed his words to Leo after the end of their World Cup match. The 35-year-old was spotted having his hand on Argentina’s forward shoulder and talking to him while greeting each other post-match.
Lewandowski stated – “We talked a bit and it was fun. I told Messi that he was playing more defensively than usual”. However, the Polish forward further inflicted that, sometimes your “team needs” you to play a bit defensively.
Moving on to his altercation with Leo, he expressed – “That was very strange”. Yes, I was in the center of the pitch defending”. The former Bayern Munich striker further opined that he needed to make that tackle as he “had to help the team”. The 35-year-old currently plays for Barcelona, a club with which Leo has a rich history.
