The former Chelsea player will be working with the club’s medical department on his injury. United’s Manager Erik ten Hag wants the player to get fit and recover quickly. Mount’s injury could keep him out till mid-September until The Red Devils face the in-form Brighton at Old-Trafford. The player could also miss out on England’s national squad selection due to his injury woes.
The depth of the midfielder’s injury is feared to be more than what was predicted earlier. Mount went off during the Spurs match, complaining of a slight hamstring. The injury was thought to be looked at and solved in about a week’s time. However, now detailed reports are pertaining that the midfielder could be out for a longer period.
Mount’s injury could open a way for Scott Mctominay to make room for himself in the United’s playing 11. The Manager might look at the bench and give players like Christian Eriksen and Mctominay a place in the starting 11.
