He accused the trio of Keane, Neville, and Ferdinand of click-baiting and using Marcus Rashford’s name for fame. The 36-year-old was disgusted by the fact that they were trying to defame and spread fake rumors about his brother.
Dwaine Maynard wrote, “I completely understand podcasts and how they work but if you have genuine concerns, pick up the phone. We know each other or have crossed paths..Airing so called concerns for the public to have an opinion is bad mind and for clickbait in my eyes.”
Although Dwaine did not take any names in the IG story, a Daily Mail report believes that he was talking about Rio Ferdinand. The Englishman, who also runs a sports management company named D N May Sports Management, dropped yet another bombshell in his statement.
He said that many of the pundits who criticize Marcus Rashford have at times asked for an exclusive interview with the Manchester United player. Certainly, this recent controversy has given the Rashford family a few more headlines, who are notorious for always being in the news.
Ex-Manchester United players make startling remarks about Marcus Rashford
The trio of Rio Ferdinand, Garry Neville, and Roy Keane were pretty merciless in their assessment of the Manchester United forward. The trio talked about the United forward in a segment of their podcast, ‘Stick to Football. While Garry looked worried about the player’s mental health, Rio Ferdinand suggested that Marcus needed to leave Manchester United to save his career.
However, Roy Keane took a completely different route and was looking fed up with the antics of the 26-year-old. He said in his classical way, “Who is giving him an old-fashioned kick up the a*** . Come on, we need more from you. If you want to be this leader, and you’re on the big contracts, then there is that responsibility.”
The former Manchester United captain believes that the forward isn’t taking on his responsibilities properly. On the other hand, Garry Neville looked sympathetic to Marcus Rashford, who, according to the former right-back, does not look in a positive mind.

“I wouldn’t say I’m worried about him, but you look at him and there’s something amiss. The people around him, whether it be family or his manager, who’s on his case every day. Who is giving him an old-fashioned kick up the arse and saying,… pic.twitter.com/JjSpp6fbWl

The 49-year-old said, “He’s not right, and it’s not just a case of him not playing well, he doesn’t look happy. I’m looking at him and thinking, I am worried about him.” Garry Neville believes that Marcus’ poor mental state is hampering his performance on the pit. (via Daily Mail)
Rio Ferdinand took a similar stance and believed that the English international should explore other possibilities in the summer. The former center-back said, “He might need to go, you know what, I’ll get rid of them and stay in Manchester, or I’ve got to leave Manchester and get rid of those people.”
The 45-year-old believes that Marcus Rashford is not a kid anymore and has to be held responsible for his poor performance. The Manchester United forward finds himself in a very tight position, where legends from his own club have turned their backs on him.
The 26-year-old hasn’t helped his case, with just 8 goals in 36 games in the 23/24 season. Marcus Rashford needs to work on his game soon, or a looming Manchester United exit might just become a reality.
