Welsh winger Louis Rees-Zammit said he had no intention of mocking Portugal fans by copying the famous celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo at the Rugby World Cup. The rugby star scored a try against Portugal in the group stages of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France on Saturday.
The player did Ronaldo‘s iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration after scoring the try. Although it seemed to be just a gesture to portray his emotions after scoring, many thought this to be some kind of mocking. Few even took this to social media, saying that this was ‘s***housery’ towards the Portuguese. They ended up losing the game 28-8 to Wales in Nice.
According to reports, after facing backlash from a lot of Portuguese fans, the 22-year-old winger has talked about his celebration. He said, “A few of the boys back home, they are massive football fans. We’re all Man United fans and they said if you score against Portugal, you’re probably not going to play them often, can you do the Ronaldo celebration? And I scored and I’ve done it”.

The player also opened up about how he got the idea of doing the iconic celebration. The player said, “I heard a few ‘SIUUUs’ in the background, which is good, but it wasn’t meant to be offensive or anything, you know? I absolutely love Ronaldo, he’s my idol and I thought why not do his celebration?”
The former Real Madrid star is one of the most famous soccer stars on the planet. His famous ‘Siuuu’ celebration is copied by many well-known personalities whenever they get a chance. This is because it is one of the most iconic celebrations of soccer. Ronaldo has been one of the best players of his generation. He is the all-time men’s record holder in his international career, as he has scored around 123 goals in 201 games for his nation.
Al Nassr star hails Ronaldo as “the king” after winning 3-1 against Al-Raed
Al-Nassr goalkeeper Nawaf Alaqidi hailed the Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo as ‘the king’. This was after their 3-1 win against Al-Raed on Sunday. The Portuguese star was back early for the international after being suspended for the game against Luxembourg. He was suspended as a result of getting three consecutive yellow cards in three earlier games.
Luis Castro’s men cruised to victory thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Anderson Talisca, and Ronaldo. The former Manchester United star’s goal has now taken his tally to seven goals and five assists in six games in all competitions this season.
Following the match, Ronaldo’s teammate Alaqidi praised him in a social media post. The shot-stopper posted a picture of the former Juventus star with his teammates. He also captioned the picture, which read, “All the team waiting for the king“.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has cemented himself as one of the greatest players in European soccer history. After that, he moved to Al-Nassr in January 2023. The star has won five UEFA Champions Leagues and three league titles in England, two in Spain, and two in Italy.
However, his journey didn’t end so well after a spat with manager Erik ten Hag in his second stint at Manchester United, which resulted in an untimely end to his journey at Old Trafford.
But ever since his move to Saudi Arabia in January, the veteran striker seems to be loving his new life in the SPL and is showing his class in every performance. Moreover, the player is currently at the top of Al-Nassr’s scoring charts in the sixth position in the standings.
