- Mbappe scored one of the easiest goals after missing a penalty.
After missing a penalty in the first half, Kylian Mbappe scored one of his career’s easiest goals just minutes later as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Strasbourg 2-1 to maintain their top spot in the French league. In the seventh minute, Alaa Bellaarouch, the Strasbourg goalkeeper, parried Mbappé’s spot kick for a corner. However, it was not only Kylian Mbappe who missed the penalty kick, the production team too missed the spot kick.
Twenty-five minutes later, Bellaarouch mishandled a clearing right at Marco Asensio, and Asensio’s assist gave his teammate a 20-meter open goal. After three minutes of the second half, PSG’s second goal was scored by the same pair. This time, Mbappé cut inside on the left and passed to Asensio, whose accurately placed strike caught the goalkeeper off guard.

Despite dominating the final moments of play and conceding a goal through Dilane Bakwa halfway through the second half, Strasbourg’s 12-game winless streak against PSG did not come to an end. The outcome also put an end to Strasbourg’s six-game Ligue 1 winning streak as it held the tenth position.
It remains to be seen how Kylian Mbappe and his side, PSG perform in the remainder of the 2023-24 season as a lot will be on Mbappe to deliver with the uncertainty surrounding his future. PSG has been performing brilliantly in the French league, however, they will be looking to win the decorated UEFA Champions League.
Huge camera blunder during PSG vs Strasbourg match
One of the incidents that occurred during the PSG vs Strasbourg match was that during the penalty kick the camera was focused on Kylian Mbappe rather than the penalty kick and the penalty was not shown on the TV. The camera showed the angle of Kylian Mbappe shooting the ball instead. This was a huge blunder spotted by the soccer community.
