Birthday wishes have been pouring in for Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe is the latest in line. Mbappe wrote a heartfelt message for Messi on the occasion of his 36th birthday. Besides Mbappe, Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez, David Beckham, and FIFA have all wished the Argentine icon.

Despite their high-tension rivalry during the FIFA World Cup 2022 final, the pair don’t have any hard feelings. Kylian Mbappe also defended Lionel Messi in a recent interview over the treatment Messi faced during his final few days at PSG. The French forward hit out at the PSG Ultras and rebuked them for booing and whistling the former FC Barcelona star. Mbappe’s comment in light of his decision to leave PSG at the end of the next season has raised quite a few eyebrows.

Lionel Messi also recently talked about Kylian Mbappe in a recent interview. The 7x Ballon d’Or has always spoken highly of his former PSG teammate. He praised Mbappe’s performance in the World Cup final as he reminisced about the final in Qatar last year in an old interview. Messi said, “It really was a breathtaking final. It was crazy how the match went. Kylian scored three incredible goals, in a final!”
He added, “Not being able to be champion after that was crazy. But he’s already won it too, and he knows what it’s like to be world champion.” In his recent interview with beIN SPORTS, Messi talked about the harsh treatment he received from the PSG Ultras. He said, “At the beginning it was great, I received a lot of support as I have often said, but after that. People started to treat me differently.”
