PSG frustrated by Rennes as Kylian Mbappe gets substituted
Rennes lead PSG in an all-important Ligue 1 clash at Parc des Princes. The visitors took the lead through the goal from their forward Amine Gouiri. When the second half began it seemed like nothing had changed for Luis Enrique’s team. Les Parisiens were looking for an equalizer. However, their manager made a strange decision as he substituted Kylian Mbappe. The 25-year-old is the main attacking threat for the club. However, a late penalty scored by Goncalo Ramos saved PSG’s night as they managed to get a point.
What does Kylian Mbappe’s deal with Real Madrid mean for Luis Enrique-led PSG?
Kylian Mbappe has already decided the fate of his future. The winger will be off to Madrid in the summer as he gets ready to bid farewell to PSG after the ongoing season. However, after his departure, the Ligue 1 club will be forced to sort out alternative ways to keep its tag as one of the best in Europe.
The club’s manager Luis Enrique will also be aware of the fact that Mbappe is going to Real Madrid as a free agent. So, he can’t expect the club to benefit from a major transfer fee. Which they could have used in signing a relevant replacement in the summer transfer window.
The club bolsters options in the attacking department like – Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele, and Marco Asensio. But, these players would need to step up their game severely if the Les Parisiens want to cope without Mbappe and still challenge for the domestic and international titles.
