Kylian Mbappe has been facing an uncertain future at his current club PSG. The 24-year-old reportedly refused to extend his stay at the Ligue 1-based club after the current season of 2023-2024. Several reports have been linking the player to a transfer away from the Les Parisiens.
France forward Kylian Mbappe was linked with a move to La Liga with the Spanish club Real Madrid. The Los Blancos were reportedly termed the most viable destination for the PSG’s number seven. However, despite the reported rumors, nothing major came across from Real Madrid’s hierarchy.
According to a recent report by ‘EUROSPORT’ former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse stated something hinting towards Mbappe. The former Liverpool player insisted that age doesn’t play a major role in transfers in soccer. He further asserted that a player should be ready for a particular transfer.
Djibril Cisse reportedly expressed – “All this happens in the head and in the heart”. “If You feel ready and mentally strong enough, there is not necessarily an age limit”. The Liverpool legend further inflicted on the alikeness between Mbappe’s and his playing style.
Cisse asserted – “Our primary qualities are speed, but he (Kylian Mbappe) also has technique”. He progressively inflicted that his game was based on “power and strength”, while the PSG’s number seven is more of a refined player. Cisse went on to state that despite the similarities in speed, he doesn’t think that they are the “same” kind of forwards.
Real Madrid might no longer be interested in Kylian Mbappe as other clubs join the race
As per a report by ‘ESPN FC’ the La Liga club Real Madrid might not be further interested in a deal for PSG’s number seven. The report suggests that sources in Spain have hinted that the Los Blancos have decided to finally end their chase for the player.
Earlier some of the other reports also asserted that the club might be forced to do so because of some internal financial issues. However, amidst all these reports, several other clubs seem to have joined the race for the 24-year-old France international.
Premier League giants Manchester United are heavily linked with the player. However, the chances for the forward going there rely heavily on the club’s current minority takeover situation. On the other hand, Liverpool is also touted to be a probable destination for the Les Parisiens player. The club had also in the past been associated with the player.
But, the road for Manchester United and Liverpool won’t be easy. Their Premier League rivals Chelsea are reportedly also in the race to sign the player. Chelsea might get the upper hand, as its current manager Mauricio Pochettino knows the player well from his time at PSG.
PSG fans however would want, whatever time their star forward has left with the club, he continues to perform and deliver for them. The Les Parisiens has already lost players like Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi in the recent past. The club’s hierarchy would definitely want to approach this whole situation involving their number seven more consciously.
