Kylian Mbappe was subbed off during Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) game against Marseille in Ligue 1. PSG’s star number ten was reportedly taken off due to an injury scare. However, the club’s manager, Luis Enrique, has suggested in his post-match press conference that there is nothing major to worry about.
The club would want their star forward, Kylian Mbappe, ready for their next Ligue 1 match. Luis Enrique hinted that there was some painful discomfort during the match for the forward. However, the manager is of the opinion that the 24-year-old player is okay as of now.
However, with their star player substituted in the early stages of the game, fans did seem to worry. But PSG did manage to see out the game 4-0. After this win, PSG now gets the third spot in the league table. They now have three wins out of six matches this season. The club hasn’t lost a game this season until now and the other three matches were drawn.
With such a decent start to the season, the manager would want to win their next game against Clermont as well. However, Mbappe’s playing would add to their chances of winning. But the team’s hierarchy would not want to risk anything when it comes to his fitness. Fans would have to wait and see if the forward would be ready to play for PSG against Clermont in their Ligue 1 fixture.
Will Kylian Mbappe be available for PSG’s upcoming Champions League fixture against Newcastle United?
PSG will be facing Newcastle United in their next Champions League match this season. According to the reports, there is no confirmation of their forward’s availability for The Parisians’s next match against Clermont and for the Champions League tie against Newcastle as of now. But, with PSG’s manager stating the player’s injury fright as benign, the French number ten might play in these two upcoming matches.
Despite all the links that are linking the French forward to a move away from PSG, he is still a massively important player for Luis Enrique and his team. Seeing his record in the Champions League, the manager would want him fit. The 24-year-old has 41 goals to his name so far in the competition. He has iced his Champions League goals with 26 assists also.
The French international also scored for PSG in their first Champions League outing of this season. PSG’s number ten scored a forty-ninth-minute penalty to give them the lead against Borussia Dortmund. The Parisians did win the game. As of now, it is up in the air, if the French club forward will play in their next Champions League tie or not.
