According to MARCA, he said, “I don’t know what PSG need to do to win the Champions League, it’s not a question for me. You have to talk to the people who make the team, who organize the squad, who build this club. I just try to do my job the best I can.”

Four of the last six attempts for PSG have ended at the RO16 stage. In the 2017/18 season, they were ousted by Real Madrid in the RO16 stage with an aggregate score of 5-2. Next season, it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United that defeated them at the same stage with an aggregate of 3-3 (away goal rule).
In the 2019/20 season, PSG peaked with Mbappe and Neymar, however, could not go past Bayern Munich in the final. They lost 1-0 as former PSG player Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game.
Manchester City got the better of PSG by an aggregate score of 4-1 in the semi-finals of the 2020/21 season. The last two seasons have again been poor for PSG. They were ousted in the RO16 stage by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, respectively.
